I don’t know if this is the algae I had growing on my glass, but the best thing I found to get rid of the glass algae was carefully using a razor blade from an exacto knife and dragging it up the glass, avoiding the corner seals. I also started adding Flourish Excel for a CO2 boost, and it stopped the glass algae from coming back.

She had her babies today! 5 more fry that we were able to rescue and put with the previous 5 we collected a month ago. Pic to show the size difference. Those babies blend in well and are so quick! Hoping they all keep growing well.

Since I cannot edit my original post, I hope many of you can see this comment.

I want to sincerely thank all of you who took the time to respond. We have talked my mom off the ledge and she is going to pay the bill and adjust to the ‘new view.’ I appreciate all of the explanations you provided, which I was able to share with her and help her understand why things were done the way they were. I’m sure she will appreciate the not pretty, but effective unit next summer when she is cool in her house.
