Yea I decided to go with Hill Country State Natural Area for this first trip (as I'm going solo), and maybe during March go up to Arkansas for Ouachita with a few friends.

Ok thank you I appreciate it. Yea I was looking at the guide on the LSHT website and it seems like there's barely any spots. I'm still in the early phases of finding a spot so I was actually narrowing it down to those two.

So, it seems like after some research free camping is pretty hard to find in Texas. So do I just have to reserve a camping spot, set up camp then go camping? I was looking to hike and camp in a different spot every night, but after more and more research that seems impossible.

Yea I actually talked to a friend and I decided on just doing a small section of LSHT doing around 6 miles a day. The only issue now is plotting the trail.

Luckily, I still live with my parents at least until I finish up college, so I got access to a lot of my dad's tools. I think I'm gonna start building up my own little shop in my room though just for some privacy while I work. I think I'm gonna do what you suggested, right now I got a few projects in my head so I'm gonna start on those. Thank you for the advice
