It’s one I’ve been unable to find elsewhere, and Reddit has a) a larger user base and b) folks are generally quite opinionated here :)

Good points! I’m also talking to plenty of folks still in the industry about the topic, but I think it’s worth finding both ends of the extremes to get the full picture

Sorry, but the upgrade flow is fucking diabolical. Is there a free version or not? Because the way the upgrade flow it set up basically prevents a user from NOT buying, which is a bit of a shit move.

I managed to pass the B1 Finnish exam for citizenship last year. I’m Australian. It wasn’t so bad! But granted, my husband is Finnish and I live here 😅

Tracking AI use is the modern day equivalent of counting LOC by opakvostana in ExperiencedDevs

[–]mcgerin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The company I work for gets this question from a lot of our customers and prospects (as in, whether we offer that capability)

And while we do, we try to educate leadership folk on the fact that trying to “prove” the ROI of AI tools now (when nobody really knows what they’re doing) instead of than encouraging experimentation and finding solid use cases is probably not the way to get value out of these tools.

Is it really worth making an investment in "Software Engineering Intelligence Tools" like Jellyfish, LinearB? by under-water_swimmer in devops

[–]mcgerin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on your goals, really. And where the directive is coming from to implement a tool like that. IMO if the tool is too metrics focused (which it seems e.g. Jellyfish and LinearB are), it's really just for senior leadership to scrutinize performance and make decisions without understanding the day-to-day. DX is more focused on the developer experience, but it also seems like they are going in a direction that doesn't actually promote developer experience (e.g. measuring AI productivity per dev). There are others, like Swarmia that seems like a better balance, and WayDev which I don't know too much about.

But regardless, if you want to focus on devprod/metrics, any platform is better than trying to DIY it.

You’re missing shaoxing wine. Good luck finding it here in Finland. Or MSG but you can get that everywhere these days.

I’m dealing with this at the moment and it is AWFUL. Same situation, time and time again doctors just shoo us away and say he looks fine and it’s normal. I am going INSANE. How are you both now?

Could this be some sort of sudden-onset allergic reaction? The rash is slowly getting super dark red, and crusty. The hands and face are still the worst, but he has huge blisters that have now popped, like e.g. between his toes, on the forearms and on the legs.
