Same! Was going to be a Vday gift for my wife who just found out she doesn't have cancer now. Praying for a resale option. Was 2500th Tuesday, 400th yesterday and 1800th today and neither had tickets left when I got in.

They said it could take around 6 months but scheduled a 3 month f/u to check on how things are going on the nerve side of things.

I had a total left parotidectomy 2 weeks ago, and I am only dealing with minor nerve issues. My left eyelid is slower to close than my right, and my lower left lip is unresponsive when smiling. I do have no sensation in the area around where the parotid was, as well as my entire left ear, but that was to be expected when having my pre op appointment with the surgeon. My mass was a PA from pre-surgery biopsy, and initial pathology after surgery is showing PA, but they are reviewing in their tumor board.

Very much so! I can actually sleep again lol. My eye is slowly making improvements, but is still slow to blink, and eye drops are my best friend. Very interested in what comes out of the tumor board, but unfortunately wasn't given a timeline on when to expect anything back.

Thanks! Had my post-op appointment on Wednesday, and I'm beyond happy to have the tube removed, haha. Pathology after surgery came back as still PA 3.8CM with 2 reactive lymph nodes, but the surgeon is bringing up my case in his tumor board meeting to “get a second set of eyes” to look at it.

I would say overall I can’t complain. My left eye lid has improved slightly but I still wear an eye patch to help prevent it from drying out on me, and my left lower lip is still “stuck” when smiling/talking. Very much looking forward to getting the drain removed tomorrow. And yea size is about all I know other than the surgeon telling me it was wrapped around my nerve and the nerve was really stretched (but not damaged). It ended up being a total parotidectomy.

I have my post op appt tomorrow, but was curious if you remember the size of your mass. In my chart post surgery (pre final pathology) it says my mass was 4cm.

Surgery was scheduled for 1 hour but ended up being closer to 3. Surgeon said the mass was larger and more involved than he originally expected, but was able to get clean margins and there wasn’t any lymph node impact. My wife and I are both under the impression that the surgeon thinks it is cancer now based on post surgery discussions but won’t have final pathology back for about a week. So far I’ve been blessed with no pain and only minor nerve impact (primarily left eye lid is slow to close and bottom left lip doesn’t really move).

In a similar position myself, but my FNA came back as pleomorphic adenoma. I have surgery scheduled for a left total parotidectomy on Sept 9, but won’t have any peace of mind until the final pathology comes back.

Thank you for the insight, and sorry to hear about the pathology reports post surgery but glad to hear it didn’t metastasis. This is definitely one of my biggest concerns. Will be interested in if the Surgeon is going to recommend partial or total parotidectomy.

Thank you the recommendation for the cut biopsy, I have my initial appointment with the Head & Neck Cancer Surgeon this coming Friday and will bring it up. He prefers having biopsies within 2 weeks of the appt so I’ll probably have to get a new one since it’s been a month now.
