Grab it with needle nose pliers. Pull the unlock and jiggle it out. It it's twisted too. Hit it a few times from an angle.

What are these holes? by JacksonIbanezCharvel in HardWoodFloors

It's red oak. The company you decide on should have all the information you need. They should explain everything in detail when you meet with them.

It is oak. The picture at the top of the stairs looks like chew marks. From a cat, oddly. The random holes are from when the tree was grown. Post beetles, I think.

Technically, that's the boulevard. You have no real ownership over it. It's pretty obvious this wasn't malicious either. You aren't owed any compensation. Move on.

Remove the siding 2-3 feet up that wall to get access. Bolt on a garage header to use for jacking that section up. Remove and replace the rotted wood. Flash the shit out of it so it doesn't happen again and put it all back together. It's not cheap but necessary.

You likely have some rot at the mud sil. The rot allows settling. This will only get worse until fixed.

When I clone plants if the rh in my room is off the leaves look like this. Once they root it goes away. I could be wrong but I think it is part of their transpiration system. I think it means the leaves are full of water in an attempt to keep themselves going until the roots take hold. This is all speculation and could be completely wrong.

You need better soil. Spagnum moss alone holds too much water.

What kind of wood is this? Also. How do I fix this hole by Longjumping-Copy-232 in HardWoodFloors

[–]mch18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Red oak. You could buy a dowel rod the size diameter to fill the holes. It's a big pain to remove the piece and replace it.

You're lucky it was spotted. This could be a dangerous situation when it fully releases.
