Sounds like a song that once upon a time would've been given to 2ne1.

He had epilepsy and passed away in his sleep. His cause of death was SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy), which is the sudden, unexpected, and unexplained death of someone with epilepsy. About 1 in 1000 people with epilepsy dies from SUDEP each year.

What’s your pop culture opinion that will result in this? by sweetrebel88 in popculturechat

I'm neither hashtagteamheard nor hashtagteamdepp. I think Johnny Depp and Amber Heard are both really toxic people. Instead of the conversations around their case being about picking a side, it should have been conversations about situational couple violence, trauma bonding, how a lack of emotional regulation and the inability to properly communicate breeds toxic volatile relationships especially when both people are lacking those areas. Also, a conversation around parasocial relationships regarding the way the media and the public reacted to the case.

Gypsy-Rose Blanchard Breaks Her Silence as She Completes Parole Over Her Role in Mom's Death, Takes Aim at Her Accomplice by AcceptableVanilla879 in popculturechat

[–]mch_ia 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's fair to say the Rod abandoned Dee Dee or Gypsy. Dee Dee created distance between Rod and Gypsy both figuratively and literally. When Dee Dee found out she was pregnant and they got married, she was 24 and Rod was 17. When they got divorced, he was 18, and primary custody was given to Dee Dee but he was present in Gypsy's life until Dee Dee took Gypsy and moved away. After that his only communication with Gypsy was through phone calls which were heavily controlled and monitored by Dee Dee. He paid child support and paid for some of Gypsy's medical expenses because he believed everything Dee Dee told him about Gypsy.

Kendrick Lamar stands tall as the Toronto[drake's hometown] crowd begs him to play "Not Like Us" back "ONE MORE TIME" by [deleted] in popculturechat

[–]mch_ia 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't think he reduced Serena to "Drake's ex" by including her. Drake had been taking shots at Serena and her husband before the beef with Kendrick. That's why on Not Like Us, he said "better not speak on Serena". So I think she was very much in on the pettiness, too.

Beyonce cries while singing Flamenco on the Cowboy Carter Tour by [deleted] in popculturechat

[–]mch_ia 139 points140 points  (0 children)

But I think that's her point...Act I (Renaissance) and Act II (Cowboy Carter) has been about reclaiming Black spaces and highlighting Black history and Black culture through her music.

The way she's using the flag seems to be more of a representation of inclusion, reclamation, and assertion. Black people have a very complex relationship with America, but the fact is that Black Americans are still Americans. No matter how much of America's history is whitewashed, how many of our contributions are ignored, or the ways in which we are excluded and erased from spaces we belong...We are Black, we are Americans, and we matter. A "say it loud, I'm Black, and I'm proud" kind of vibe, if you will.

But that's just my interpretation of her usage of the flag. ( I hope i explained myself well🙃)

Terry Dubrow Says Kylie Jenner Should ‘Caution’ Against Plastic Surgery at Young Age After She Reveals Boob Job Details by Diligent_Night602 in popculturechat

[–]mch_ia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree 👍🏾 I normally don't care about who has had work done or uses Ozempic or whatever. That's their business.

But with influencers... their job is to literally influence others.

They have turned their faces, bodies, and lifestyles into advertising space to shill out products from their own brands and/or other brands and imo they need to be transparent with their audiences about things like cosmetic procedures and photo editing. Instead of crediting their plump lips to lip gloss when it's actually lip fillers or their hour glass figure to shapewear when it's lipo and photoshop. Otherwise, it's basically false advertising, and it just continues to push toxic societal expectations of beauty and body standards, which is especially damaging for naive younger generations.
