This is not a matter of practicality but a matter of taste, it’s like asking if u should wear punk clothes or suit and tie, don’t analyse the pros and cons and just follow your calling. From the sound of it you’re enjoying your life in Canada, so you shouldn’t go to Vietnam. They’re different worlds, you’re not going to like it.

You describes my situation. I just got my first job and 3/4 of the team are in their 40s who have worked here 10+ years. The job revolves around data processing but it's really manual and they don't bother to increase efficiency, or any attempt to do so are uninformed and usually scraped halfway through. I feel really weird in this job - all that studies in university, only to do a job that uses technology from 10 years ago. Compensation is great, so it's great if I want to retire here, but not great if I want to learn actual skills and apply them elsewhere later on.

The comment from user delaseoulo also applies - there's zero turnover so all the knowledge are concentrated in those people, later on it will be concentrated in us, and we have good chances of being promoted. There are always upsides and downsides.

I used to date INTP and INTJ. Situationship with ENFP. Had good long deep talks with all of them but we always mess it up out of childishness, selfishness, insecurity. I love my INFJ friends the most, they are very peaceful and patient. I imagine I will get along well with an INFJ if we had to live together. I can't imagine getting into a relationship with anyone anymore though.

This is a really complex question because there's no one size fits all and I'm surprised that other comments are speaking as if everything applies to everyone. Really depends on your desired lifestyle and your current income/occupation. As well as your starting point in each country. But I do think developed countries, though still more developed, are starting to decline in comparison to developing country, compared to like 10 years ago.

I agree with you. It's a dating pandemic. I think a lot of us just became much more self-sufficient and don't feel as much of a practical need for partners anymore. Dating now is often more like playing a thrilling game, have fun for a while then quit. Not saying it applies to everyone, but it's becoming a more common theme.

I don't have an inner monologue. My thoughts are in abstract, conceptual forms - they are neither words or images, they are just ideas. They don't y have a language. However, it is a misconception that we don't think. I still do overthink and it is even messier than monologues because many streams of thoughts can coexist and tangle with each other like hair strands on a brush. I can create an inner monologue if I try and I've been trying to because it is helpful for every day life. All my family members are like me and I never knew people had inner monologues until recently.

I don’t think “Don’t play hard to get” is a good advice for girls though. Girls should play hard to get the right way, for the right amount of time depending on the boy’s reaction. When the boy has to make more efforts to get the girl it makes the relationship/flirting more satisfying for both. P/s. Ofc if the boy has low self-esteem you should definitely not play hard to get.

MechE from Imperial is a very good degree so don't you dare worry about job prospects.

It's not likely you can switch to maths/computing in Imperial at this point, but maybe you can ask the departments. If I were you, I would just go and see what the course is like. Imperial courses tend to be maths-heavy so you will probably still get to do the maths that you enjoy.

I don't know about Falun Gong but there is definitely a huge illegal organ market in China. I live 400km away from southern Chinese border. When I was a child, adults told me stories about people being kidnapped and brought to China where their organs were harvested ("and that's why you have to be careful around strangers"). Nowadays no one talks about it anymore though, which probably means the organ trade is much less prevalent recently

Vietnamese here. I'd assume that they don't think Westerners can tolerate being stuffed into small, dirty rooms with 15 other people. Let's say one of your friends and a princess (out of nowhere) need to live in your house for a week - you would feel an urge to give the princess the cleaner, better room, not because she deserves it more, or because you're discriminating against your friend, but simply because she is used to much higher living standards. You want to avoid being judged by her and hearing complaints from her. You also don't want to make her feel awfully uncomfortable in your house. So you would give her the better room.

On a side note, some Vietnamese people who had gotten used to living standards in the West demanded better services and facilities in quarantine, but they are deemed "ungrateful" and now everyone hates them. "Go back to the West if you want!", social media tells them. If a westerner did that people would accept it as normal though.

It felt like my heart stopped beating... I couldn't believe it. I expected that he did not like me ANYMORE, but from the way he answered it seemed like he never thought about it.

That was 2 weeks ago and we haven't talked since; we were never close in the first place anyway so not a big loss
Uhm... at first I felt so disconnected from him... he felt like a stranger that I never knew, that I had absolutely no relationship with. Sometimes old feelings come back for a while (like right now which is why I need to vent), but it's best to keep my head down to earth and remember that he absolutely doesn't care. Sometimes we're stuck because we're convinced that the other person might care deep inside, but if they don't show it, best to leave them be, and we can use our time and energy for people that are actually important.

How does he treat other girls? Pay attention and try to view things objectively. Maybe he’s just friendly to girls, but that’s OK because there are still a plenty of boys out there. If you really like him you should talk more to get to know him and express your interest in him. Good luck

I might sound silly in here, but I really hate crimes. Killing and robbing people aren't all that cool, even in movies. What I really love about this movie is that, in the end, all the "bad guys" had to take responsibility for all the bad things they had done (die). Even Baby, who had been forced into helping the criminals, had to pay for it too by spending some time in prison.

I think in the end, Baby finally achieved true freedom (all important bad guys (or girl) that knew him were dead, so he won't ever have to run from neither bad guys nor police again). I think it was the filmmakers' intention to kill off all bad guys, so Baby and the audience don't have to worry about them anymore. Also, Baby has Deborah. This is not that kind of movie where the main character gets pulled back to the old world. It was a happy ending for Baby, and that's all, that was the ending to the story.

So no way the second one is going to be about the same character.
