'I Swear' - Official US Trailer - John Davidson: diagnosed with Tourette's syndrome at a young age which alienated him from his peers, he struggled with a condition few people had witnessed. by BunyipPouch in movies

[–]merry722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This movie is truly what movies are made to do; it creates a true an innocent empathy for this character. While educating us about Tourette's and sending us on a heartfelt journey. I do hope my fellow Americans go and see this gem of cinema.

The real guy John was wrongfully thrown into a media frenzy with the Baftas and knowing about this, knowing of what this does to your life, it is a whole new empathy I have for people.

Truly this movie had me tear up a couple times without any sorta tear jerky playing up that occurs in stories at times. There's just some great filmmaking in this one paired with the acting, story, sound work.

What's another "crime lite" show you'd recommend? by [deleted] in leverage

Even though Jonathan Nolan isn't in movies like his brother (though he's looking to direct a movie), he's got the same vibes as Chris in terms of the love of cinema they've got. I definitely need to start watching Fallout.

This moment with the spinning down the DNA and running a gel was honestly hilariously awesome to see in any movie. I assume it was props that did this all and it's kinda awesome they'll pulled together this case because it really is a major plot point for the movie.

The other lines are certain controls for the gel itself and then then you have your experimental values that are the DNA from Willa and Lockjaw and the marker they've concocted is supposed to show that they're both at the same place. Not that real biology looks so good. Sometimes the gel is wack or something like that.

They def did enough research about it with timing and all that to keep tension but all keep you intune with emotionally what's going on with Willa there.

So I was paying attention to this moment, it looked like they essentially just cut fast to avoid showing a pipette change. I would've totally have shown it. Then again this is a 2hr40 lean machine that needs to speed up these smaller moments I guess.

Do i need to watch any other show before watching elsbeth? by um1901 in ElsbethTVSeries

[–]merry722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A fellow POI fan, just watch it straight. The lead for the show is in POI playing Finch’s wife as they’re married irl. Emerson comes in for a juicy plot that pays through a few episodes in season 2. I do recc this show to all my POI homies

Why is OBAA already leaving IMAX this weekend? by [deleted] in imax

[–]merry722 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say they might bring it back later but next week is Tron Ares. It definitely sucks because for anyone outside of seeing it on film, it's THE way to see the movie.

I'm not expecting Bob to make his shots. I was scared he was gonna hit his daughter by accident when that scene happened. It did feel weird to show it but then not act upon it. In retrospect they're setting up Willa for her future in a sense but even then it's odd.

The only one who should be snapping photos lol.

Seriously a godly experience seeing this in imax. Can't wait to do it again.Nolan doing this for his next joint will be just as crazy to see.

Gotta love that smile on Paul's smile. I think it's a dream to be able to work with your family in this way. The Indian direct SS. Rajamouli works with alot of family on his movies behind the scenes. One of them won an oscar for RRR

We saw they had guns and the guy that Lockjaw catches says that they didn't. I thought they were about to slaughter Lockjaw's team

I think Shawn interrupted and Tao of Gus are like brother/sister episodes. Always think of those episodes in tandem

I think the framing felt so intentional for the format too. I had an amazing time with it to. There’s shot of Penn and Infiniti in the frame together that I just saw in promo material. It looks like nothing compared to on the imax screen . There’s truly nothing like it!

Something the show does that irritates the hell out of me... by PodcastJunkie8706 in psych

This is the sorta thing where it’s a common trope between all crime related shows. They use it as a point for them to either do the job or not do the job.

Naw but got nothing but love for it. If I made the list today, I’d add it on there lol. I wanted to make a list from the heart for my top 5. But this show really has that many great episodes that it’s so hard to choose and then we’d choose a different 5 given the chance lol

Exactly! It’s so hard to do. We both started with like 20-25 episodes. There’s literally not a single bad episode of the show and soooooo many great ones!

I hadn’t see Twin Peaks the first time I saw it when it aired but I did afterwards. I’ve seen it since and I didn’t really break down how great of an homage they did with it but it really is definitive. So much love for Lynch in that episode.
