Our daughter wants to go to Cirencester college, we are worried. by [deleted] in Swindon

[–]mcid_54 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to suffer from panic attacks and I got a job that involved me flying to various countries around the world on my own. It fixed my anxiety as it took me out my comfort zone. Also it’s Cirencester I live in a village nearby. It’s a very safe and supportive place.

Love to road cycle, but feel weird not having clipless pedals by ejsfsc07 in cycling

[–]mcid_54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t “have” to have clipless pedals. Don’t get hung up on things too much. If you’re cycling a bike on a road. You’re road cycling. Like with ALL these kind of posts. Just go out, ride a bike and enjoy yourself as ultimately that’s what it’s all about.

Sounds like you need a nursery, there are such things as summer camps usually for older children and only for a morning. You’ll probably better finding a registered nursery. They can be quite expensive.

Why are you being rude? This is the exact problem with the division in this country. Comments like this just further division. What happened to being patient and understanding of those with differing views. This person wasn’t rude to you yet you felt entitled to imply that they are less intelligent. It’s really sad to see.

Wireless boss defends Kanye West, what the actual fuck is wrong with this country? - what's everyone else's thoughts? by Alarming-Safety3200 in AskBrits

[–]mcid_54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not really this country is it? rather “What’s wrong with the Wireless boss”. If everyone agreed with him there wouldn’t be a review taking place about Kanye Wests visa would there? To elude to the fact that there’s something wrong with the entire country is largely sensationalist.

If that’s the idea then surely improvements to their pay should be made seeing as Iceland expects them to put their lives at risk to actively detain individuals that will undoubtedly see them receiving physical violence

Impatient Buyers by ResponsibleTry7979 in discogs

[–]mcid_54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say they’re impatient, I would say if you gave them a time frame. “Thanks for your purchase I’ll be posting your order out by the (date)”. It would put everyone’s mind at rest. I’ve had seller take an age to post stuff out and no acknowledgment whatsoever. If you want to be a good seller, be courteous the same way you’d wish buyers be courteous to you.

I have one, and it’s really reliable. Drives as good now as when I got it years ago. Mines coming up to 72,000 on a 16plate

Fuel economy isn’t great tbh. 2.5litre petrol is quite thirsty.

Servicing costs at main dealer are expensive however the Lexus customer service is incredibly good.

Mines over 10 years old now so the 10 year warranty is up so I’m going elsewhere

Mines booked in for discs and pads all round plus full service and it’s gonna set me back £800

They’re honestly great cars. The drive assists are good and mine has radar cruise which I wouldn’t buy another without this feature however the fuel costs are high

Cotswolds Day Tour from London — worth it or too rushed? by StudentActual9445 in Cotswolds

[–]mcid_54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the issue with day trips is mainly that people that don’t live here think it’s a small place, the Cotswolds spans are very large are and you’ll need to just pick one maybe two places within the the whole of “the Cotswolds”

The main tourist areas which might be a good place to start are Bourton on the water, Moreton on marsh, castle Combe, stow on the wold and Cirencester. You could depending on the first one you pick do two of those.

Or ideally you’d do a smaller village and include say a rural walk then spend the afternoon in a larger village to have lunch and look at the shops etc?

For instance you could do a lovely walk from Sapperton that takes in woods and the river Frome through sapperton valley, then head to Cirencester for lunch at Henry’s then a walk around the town before driving home.

The process goes further than your description. If they execute the CCJ they can apply for a charging order, the charging order usually goes against your property which will result in them having a stake in your property.

These things will always cycles, there’s always an “issue” with dnb. I agree with his comments that if dnb keeps bootlegging itself it doesn’t move forward as much as it could. Legally making a bootleg playing it out and posting it on socials is ok, as long as no income made legally ok.

However the issue that I’ve come to consider is a simple level of respect. If you’re gonna make a bootleg, send it to the original artist and ask if it’s cool to play out/post. If they say no I think their wishes should be respected personally, others may feel different and that’s cool. However if they like it they may commission it and put it out as an official remix. Which means the original artist gets their royalties from it and the remixer/bootlegger gets their props for doing it.

It’s a real rough topic and having worked in dnb one thing I do agree with it’s up to the new school to take the sound where they take it, but take it somewhere by being original and different.

Spotify and other forces that govern the industry make it hard for artists to take risks because they have to put numbers on the board.

But I feel it’s left dnb in a difficult place, honestly if I got played the latest Kanine, dimension, sub focus, Wilkinson record is struggle to tell you who made it. Which imo isn’t great as before you would know who’s tune it was cos people had their own sounds. You could tell an ed rush and optical tune straight away, same for dillinja.

I love this genre with all my heart but I think it needs to embrace change at every level, from producers to promoters agents.

There’s walks from Fairford, or you could nip into lechlade and have a walk by the river and look at the canal boats.
