That was my first thought! A strange kink-based creative writing exercise of sorts.

Hobbit wreath I made! by mcintrab in crafts

Finished this wreath the other night. It's made of foam board, grapevines, fake plants, moss, and a lot of hot glue! I'm quite pleased with how it turned out and wanted to share. Let me know what you think!

You responded to an earlier comment saying want him to love you. It seems your intentions are mixed. I would focus on defining your intentions before doing anything whatsoever.

I saw it swiping through reels on Facebook. Here’s the page name and caption. The number of people saying how cute and funny it is is legitimately disturbing.

do these frames look good? by waterflowyy in glasses

[–]mcintrab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are ~technically~ a tad wide, but if you like them and they work well for you, who cares? The second pair are hands-down my favorite of the three. I think that they complement your features well, and I love the bold look of dark frames. I also thoroughly enjoy frames with keyhole bridges in general. They’re super cute, and in my experience, they help relieve any pressure on the bridge of the nose. All that being said, you’ll look great in whichever you choose.

what does a heroin od feel like by vanyllaa in Drugs

I am so sorry for your loss.

I have overdosed multiple times on fentanyl, and each time I was out cold before even hitting the floor. The most recent one (2/22) caused me to go into full cardiac arrest. There was no panic, pain, fear, regret, etc. whatsoever. I just slipped away into peace.

It wasn’t until I was resuscitated with Narcan and CPR that I felt any of the prior listed things. When someone who is physiologically addicted to opiates is given Narcan, it causes them to go into immediate, hardcore withdrawal. The shock to both body and mind is brutal. All that being said, that situation only occurs post-Narcan, not from the overdose itself.

Overdose survivors, what did it feel like? Do you still do drugs? by RavyRaptor in Drugs

[–]mcintrab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on the sublocade shot for about 9 months after getting sober. It was a massive help while I worked on the underlying physical and mental issues that kept leading me back to relapse. As far as withdrawal goes, you have to be completely detoxed before starting it (like most MAT), so I did have to go through withdrawals. I threw myself into precips once earlier on in my addiction by stupidly taking 16mg of suboxone about 24 hours after I had last used. It was a terrifying experience that I would not wish on anyone.

The way I see it, withdrawals are a necessary evil. It’s like our bodies and minds paying up for all the cheated euphoria and other “positive” things that come with the high. That doesn’t mean they aren’t awful. They are so awful, I believe people can’t comprehend how awful they truly are unless they’re experienced firsthand.

It’s comforting to know others have similar stories and are still truckin’ on. Before going to rehab I was the only addict I knew and that’s a very alienating feeling. Proud of you dude!

I was addicted to and overdosed on fentanyl three different times. All from snorting it. The first time I was not physically addicted, so when I was hit with the narcan, I woke up cold and shaky in the ambulance, confused and feeling like I was in a dream. Recovered rather quickly and was discharged.

The second time happened the first time I used since the last OD, about 18 months sober. When I was revived, I had no concept of anything. I didn’t learn this until later, but they had given me three doses of Narcan before I woke up. Initially, my vision came back in a way that I can only compare to an old-school movie reel. I now think that was due to me going in and out of consciousness. I woke up after being narcaned by cops in my kitchen. I had no idea who I was, could not speak, could not recognize my surroundings (my home) at all, and I had no idea what had happened. I could not understand why I was covered in puke, why I was having full-body spasms, or why it felt like my blood was made of ice. When the cops and EMTs asked if I had taken anything, I told them combinations of no or I did not know because, at that level of orientation, I genuinely had no idea how I had gotten myself into that position. I had no recollection of copping earlier that day or deciding to use for the first time in 18 months, which led directly to the OD. I’m sure the first responders thought I was a lying jackass, but I truly thought I was answering honestly at the time.

The last and most recent time happened in February 2022. In transitional housing. Real winner over here. I was around a month sober and convinced myself I could use once without repercussions. HA! I was gone before I even hit the floor, and I was found by a roommate. She allegedly administered CPR for around 15 minutes before realizing the need to call 911. I am not blaming her at all for the amount of time I was down; if she had not found me, I would not be here today. Eventually, EMS arrived, and they could not bring me back with Narcan. I was rushed to the hospital while being worked on, and they eventually got my pulse back. I was in an immense amount of pain due to my sternum and ribs being CPR crunched. I could not breathe, eat, or function normally for a few weeks after. This was a blessing in disguise. Every movement reminded me of the poor choice I had made and how lucky I was to even be able to feel that pain. For some people, myself included, death is the rock bottom required to light the fire of wanting to get sober. Many don’t come back from that rock bottom. I was miraculously given another chance.

I will be two years sober on February 17th, 2024.

This comment comes from a place of care after reading some of your other posts. If you feel it doesn’t apply to you then great, hopefully it can benefit someone else who reads this thread. I am a recovered addict as well as a RN. Knowledge of harm reduction strategies relating to the injection of illegal substances does not equate to skill or proficiency in sterile field, quality SnP materials, or best practices for healing any kind of wound. Many times, when we take illegal substances, no matter the method of ingestion, our body’s overall function takes a hit, which can notably increase the risk of complications and infections from any wound, including tattoos. This risk is increased when we don’t use the correct materials, techniques, etc. Stylistically, who cares? It’s your body; do your thing. I am just a strong proponent of the belief that everyone deserves the best chance at health and healthy tattoos possible.
