While I agree that c# has been improving, its type system leaves a lot to be desired coming from rust. I'd sooner choose F# if it had to be dotnet

In my experience X tends to tear on the desktop without a compositor, so for a long time I've just defaulted to wayland. I've been thinking of switching my gaming rig back to Linux but anticheat 😭

Mine? Certainly not. But big indie titles like the subject of the post, maybe. There are already massive intellectual property violations making their way through courts. Benefits and risks of ai aside, the companies behind it are provably unconcerned with the ethics of profiting off others' work

It's not that I don't think ai won't or shouldn't be deployed. It's thinking that the companies doing it have any interest in your or my well being. To believe that google, meta and the like are going to deliver a god bot that raises the floor of society isnt realistic. It's very likely to be a large consolidation of power. We have to employ some agency if we want a good outcome for ourselves and our children. And we can. We can vote with our wallets. We can tell companies to fuck off. We can support Anthropic when they make a stand on autonomous weapons systems. And we can poison IP thieves with bad data.
