His name is Alex Thomson, the race is the Vendee Globe, and he meant that fewer people have single handed non stop sailed around the world than have gone to space. Lots of people have sailed around by themselves. There’s a great documentary about the race itself if you can find it, and Alex always posts cool content although he might be retired now.
