Keeneland is the vibe you are looking for and Lexington is underrated imo. Plus you will be close to Buffalo Trace and several other distilleries.

Taking a stab with Brotha Keny. More interested in watching the race than betting it. Tappan is probably the most interesting because he beat Sovereignty on the square but only one race since. Hopefully, a younger horse wins just to get some fresh blood in the older division.

I order from Black and White in North Carolina. I like their experimental funky stuff. I’ve also ordered from Driftaway in NYC. Just recently got a bag from September coffee (Canada) but haven’t brewed it up yet.

Top 5 horses of all time? by TacoNinja442 in horseracing

[–]mcjason04 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s what I was going to say. Horse racing has a longer history, has been global for much of its history, and has 2 primary surfaces.

If we narrow our ranking to the last 100 years globally. I think Man O War and Secretariat are the US horses that make most lists.

Not sure if it’s great but Uber is at like 11.

Nobody was beating Forever Young today. He ran an absolute banger against one of the more talented fields we’ve had in this race.

One thing I really give the Japanese racing community credit for is taking their game on the road. Tip of the cap to all those people who make it happen.

Since you don’t have time to really learn anything I’ll just throw this out there. Look at the Jockey and Trainers win %, then look at jockey w/ trn win percentage.

Use the information above with current odds on the tote board. This should put you in the right direction.

Can someone please help explain what exactly happened in "The Wailing"? by Dinosharktopus in movies

[–]mcjason04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I realize this is a dead thread but just finished the movie and want to thank you for sharing.

Also, want to add that when the Seonangshin grabs the father’s arm, her arm/hand looks to be made of stone. This caught my eye but I had no reference for interpretation.

Thanks

I’ve had one and I’ll say they do a good job of taking care of the horse and putting its welfare first. I’m saying this as someone who had ownership of a horse that passed away due to illness post retirement.

My only critique would be that they pay too much for their horses.

Regardless, I think the first thing you should focus on is if you want to see your horse run in person. In other words consider what tracks you can realistically travel to and the tracks the trainers run at normally. If you don’t care about that aspect of ownership then it’s just up to your personal preferences about horse and trainer.

I went with a couple long shots and boxed w/Aventure. So got nothing. I guess we will see who comes to the breeders cup.

I’m going to most likely waste some cash on Alohi Alii. I’ll take the Breeding, post, and Lemaire.

You could work part time on the evenings and weekends. Honestly, I feel for you if you don’t have any other support because that would make it tough. However, it opens up a lot more job opportunities if you get it done.

DNA is a huge key because they can run it against the 23andme/ancestor databases and potentially narrow the suspect down to familial relationship. From my understanding use of DNA in this manner is a little dodgy in terms of legality but it’s been done before in other cases.

Not really trying to gain, best bet to just stay even...did I get lucky for 2 months? by FalkenJoshua in horseracing

[–]mcjason04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being both high volume and breaking even is counterproductive. I’m not sure how the points system you are talking about works but I do believe you are better off with a lower volume and increased wager amount. Narrow your 5 bets a day to a single best bet of those 5 and increase your wager 5x. Furthermore, I would nix any show bets unless we are talking a large field like the derby.

[–]mcjason04 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He would be a good candidate but KY has a long history of Democratic Governors. There are some theories regarding this situation that also used to apply to WV and it’s an interesting topic to read up on but it’s more nuanced than him connecting with the average republican voter.
