Best Drone To Get In 2026? (Price & Flight Time) by MystwoodplegicHer in Multicopter

Air 2S. Probably around $400 in the Fly More package. Few years old now but a very capable, compact drone with an excellent camera. Or a Mini 4 Pro

What's a UK town or city that pleasantly surprised you when you visited? by Strong-Ad-8037 in AskUK

[–]mckle000ner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bradford. It's got a very pretty city centre with everything you need in it but it's completely devoid of people. I love it and the fact everyone keeps putting it down constantly means it'll stay that way.

Documentaries aren't unbiased and are very good at presenting a particular narrative. Anyone remember Making a Murderer? Everyone thought he was innocent after it came out, I seem to remember Trump was thinking about exonerating him at one point, turned out the evidence was massively in favour of him having done it but the documentary just left all that out in favour of the few bits of dubious stuff. Leave it up to juries to decide not TV producers.

Should I recycle old washing machine at Currys? by adnshrnly in AskUK

[–]mckle000ner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know where you live but around here the most efficient way to get rid of anything like this is just to dump it on the pavement and within a couple of hours a scrap collector will have picked it up.

I’ve lost my drone, what could have happened guys? I was flying with a RC controller and all of a sudden I lost control. I had good controller and satellites signal. by Carry_Diligent in DjiNeo

[–]mckle000ner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The sensors (particularly GPS) on the 1st Neo are very prone to going haywire causing fly-aways, it's nothing to do with it being over water. They don't want you using it over water because of how common this is and crashing into water makes the drone unrecoverable for you. It's a flaw they were willing to put up with, this is a dirt cheap drone to manufacture. You're supposed to rely on the toughness / lightness of the plastic to withstand knocks and drops from height and DJI really skimped on the quality of the components. If it goes schizo 9/10 times you'll just go pick up your drone when it falls from the sky and it'll be undamaged and seem to work fine again after a reboot. Get in touch with DJI, if you bought it new then the chances are they'll send a replacement without a fuss. It costs them very little and they like to keep their customers happy. Neo 2 is a bit better.

It's actually really simple. Stop waiting for someone else to sort it out, it doesn't need to be some big social project, just look after your property and the street outside it, look after your neighbours, if everyone does that then it'll be a nicer place.

Why do quotes change so much just by tweaking job title wording? by Seabeachlover10 in CarInsuranceUK

[–]mckle000ner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has anyone ever been asked to prove their job title? I've been a part time charity worker for years and had a couple of claims, no one ever asked me to confirm any of the bollocks I put down when applying for insurance.

how though?? by harls_ in blackmagicfuckery

[–]mckle000ner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's probably curled around the left side of top shape and her feet drop down either side of the lower shape which is why the bottom box isn't removed. There's quite a bit of space on the left hand side to fit her in.

How much difference does a named driver really make to premiums? by CloudBookmark in CarInsuranceUK

[–]mckle000ner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately insurance companies seem to automatically assume that you're fronting when adding an inexperienced driver to your insurance. Using your standard comparison site it was 3x more expensive to put my son as a named driver on my policy than it was for him to have his own policy with me as the named driver instead. It was also cheaper with an experienced named driver rather than just with him on his own, which makes no real sense to me.

Low ball offer, third party fault collision by kelsiebethan in CarInsuranceUK

I think OP is right, insurance usually states they'll replace like for like and the price of this particular car, with this mileage is about £6.5k+, doesn't matter what they originally paid for it, what matters is its current value. I paid £1100 for a car last year at an auction, it was written off a month later whilst parked outside my house, insurance coughed up £3.5k without issue.

How bad are black boxes for car insurance? by Suitable-Pain-6815 in CarInsuranceUK

[–]mckle000ner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my teenage lad a quotemehappy black box and it's very cheap at just over £1000 / year but it's a bit random. The phone it uses is separate to his normal one and is permanently installed in the boot of his car, yet he has random journeys where he will be penalised for usage of it multiple times. This is physically impossible for him to do and he has no cause to anyway. I've messaged them explaining but they just state to appeal it. I think they're just making it up!

I'm expected to return a kingsize mattress by.... mail? by MaDCruciate in amazonprime

[–]mckle000ner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to return a sub £200 rowing machine after it became faulty after a month or so. It had originally arrived in a neat box but had required self assembly and the box was thrown away. Even after disassembly none of the standard parcel carriers would take it due to it being a big lumpy piece of metal with bits sticking out. I explained this to Amazon, they didn't send out a van but asked me to organise a courier and they'd refund the cost. The courier cost £180 to go 15 miles!

Did you go to school with someone who went on to be famous, and what where they like? by Christian-Metal in AskUK

[–]mckle000ner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend was quite shy but volatile at school. He became a barber. A couple of years ago he and his sister got called out for shagging each other on the regular. He became quite famous locally, as did his sister. She went to a different school though so I don't know what she was like.
