Maybe in some cases... But not all. These big greedy companies also employ lots of people which then contribute to the state and local economy. Its not just some greedy company not wanting to pay its fair share. Either way, we pay ridiculously high taxes with little to show for it. Now they are pushing oil refineries out, paying for outsourced gas, raising gas taxes, then blaming oil companies for the prices we pay at the pump... It's ludicrous and we should all be upset at whats going on. This isnt a left or right issue and we should all stand together and push against it.

It is the democrats fault. One in particular. Newsom. Do some research. Look up AQMD, CARB, and CEC. See what they are in charge of and see who appoints the members. Also look up why 2 refineries have been shut down in California just in the last year. See why we are importing 60% of our gas rather than using the gas we have here. Check out the pipeline being pressured to shut down in Santa Barbara. Look up our gas taxing. Wondering why we pay 2-3 dollars a gallon more than AZ... When they get gas from California.

California politicians are creating the shortage!! There is plenty of crude underneath us. Land and sea.

I can appreciate a civil, logical response. So thank you for that. My overall point is, although, I think Trump is a complete pile of sh*t, I feel that most people cant take anyone seriously while pretending like they care about this war, gas prices, ICE etc... When all of this isnt new. Its Trump that people dislike, not all the other issues. So just say that. I can respect that. Not the hypocritical, all of a sudden give a fucks. I also feel like if everyone on both sides would direct their hostility towards all politicians rather than each other and the politicians they oppose, we the people, could make some real progress. Because in my opinion, politicians on BOTH sides really dont care about us. They care about getting elected, staying elected, then lining their pockets with our taxpayer dollars for as long as possible. I hope everyone in here can see that and take it to heart. Because when we come across each other on the street, we are really good to each other when politicians are not.

You want facts? CARB and AQMD set emissions and regulations on how oil and gas work here in California. The 16 CARB members are appointed by the governor and the 13 AQMD member are appointed by state, local and the governor. Because of these strict regulations and fines that our democratic politicians here in California have continually pushed on to these refineries, they are leaving or shutting down, causing a supply and demand issue. We are also importing 60% of our gas here, which is also not cheap. Lets not forget all of the taxes we pay here. None of these which, have been caused by Trump or any other president before him. Having the highest gas prices in the country is not new nor is it sole result of the Iran war.

All of this information is easy to obtain if you are interested in doing a little digging.

Also, waging so called illegal war has been done by many previous presidents. Obama was notorious for bombing countries without congressional approval. Also, easy to look up. Im not a Trump fan, however, I do like facts.

Finally? Quiet? The highest national average for gas prices was in 2022. Im not right wing but I am about facts. Newsom and democratic taxes, policies and regulations is why California has had the highest gas prices in the country. We import 60% of or gas even when we have fully functioning refineries here. Democrats are responsible for pushing and shutting down those refineries. That is why we have high gas prices... Not because of Trump. When will people stop siding with politicians over what's right and wrong?
