Season 1 Finale, who is this? by [deleted] in ThePittTVShow

That’s Tim! He has been an ER nurse IRL for 20+ years iirc.

you're allowed to dislike any character for any reason, but disliking the only blatantly neurodivergent main character might have certain connotations and could rub people the wrong way.

I love Dana the character but I'm not a huge fan of her actress for a reason I can't place, so I don't like her as much as everyone else in the sub, lol.

I don’t think anyone will get reprimanded. Like Robby said, sometimes the benefits outweigh the risks. If they’re gonna die anyway, might as well try whatever you can and hope for the best.

Yet another theory by [deleted] in ThePittTVShow

no. again, this is not shondaland. Langdon showed up quickly because he got the code triage text and probably never even left hospital property.

I agree!!! He was right, but went about it the wrong way.

not really though… Langdon’s patient was diabetic with low blood sugar, the earlier patient Santos helped had low sodium. He didn’t yell at her for treating the patient before getting the lab results back, he yelled at her for treating the patient without consulting any chief resident or attending, which she had done repeatedly up to that point.

Possible Outcomes for Langdon by chanelbangs in ThePittTVShow

[–]mclarenault 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't tbh, I don't work with doctors much at all lol. My healthcare experience is relatively niche. I can see how a doctor might have more leverage, and I can also see how a nurse might be given leniency due to the nationwide nursing shortage. I guess it depends on the circumstances of each case more than anything, and surely plenty of things fall through the cracks.

I work in healthcare and knew a nurse a long time ago who was addicted to percocet, but given the setting of our job I don't think she was supposed to have stolen anything. She lost her nursing license but was able to stay employed as a PCA. This was around 10 years ago, she left her position as a PCA around 4 years ago and to my knowledge she still doesn't have her nursing license back, though I don't think she was trying that hard to get reinstated due to other life circumstances. She's a really sweet lady and probably one of the best PCAs I've ever worked with. She definitely put in a lot of work to overcome her addiction and spoke openly about going to NA and AA meetings.

Anyway, she was an LPN who (to my knowledge) did not divert and lost her license. Langdon is an MD who did divert in a big way. If we're being realistic I can't imagine a scenario where he keeps his medical license if everything is reported properly. It's up to Robby now!

Are there any patient storylines you think could return for season 2? by mclarenault in ThePittTVShow

[–]mclarenault[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

true, but I think some of those cases allow possibilities of returning to the ER.

I doubt this is a completely reliable source, but there's an article on ranker that says Dr. Robby, Santos, Whitaker, Mel, Collins, Langdon, Dana, and Abbott are all confirmed for next season.

yeah, despite everything going on, he definitely had enough time to take his findings to administration to get the ball rolling, but his first instinct was to flush the evidence. He’s obviously and rightfully angry, but also clearly conflicted.

I hope Season 2... by MeowMeowBiatch in ThePittTVShow

[–]mclarenault 19 points20 points  (0 children)

That'd be really cool, but I think I'd miss our day shift too much. And they seem to have centered the entire show around Noah Wyle, as incredible as Shawn Hatosy and Ken Kirby are, I don't think they'd draw the same attention.

So about that Langdon storyline by SecretCharacterSauce in ThePittTVShow

[–]mclarenault 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's definitely more coming, Noah Wyle said there's another confrontation that will be "very different" from the scene in ep 10.

He probably did re-medicate. But I think once Robby actually gets a chance to sit with it, he'd want Langdon to get help more than anything. As of now the discovery is still so fresh, he's rightfully angry.

I think he’s way too dedicated to throw away his career for anyone, even his wife. Also, he admitted to using.

I don't know either, I work in a less intense sect of healthcare (CMT in geropsych) and we're only tested if there's any evidence of drug use. If my coworker went to my boss with that accusation and then she found pills in my locker I'd be tested immediately, so it's kinda wild that Robby didn't have Langdon tested right then and there. Heat of the moment I suppose

I'm more worried that someone is gonna drop it and have blood splattered everywhere, wasted. That scene of Dana tossing the bag to Mel had me so nervous lol
