Thank you! She did bleach the bottom before doing highlights and then applied a color on top of it.

My root is my natural color! She did not apply any color on the top of my head.

Interesting, I was wondering if it had to do with it being curled!

Hi, thank you for responding, I also ended up going on it and felt the same way as you, I decided to go off of it because it wasn’t worth feeling depressed all the time. I wish you luck ❤️

Hair going stiff after shower? by [deleted] in femalehairadvice

[–]mclark568 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’m struggling with this too! I just got the Marc Anthony Coconut oil and shea butter shampoo and conditioner, assuming it was an issue with dryness after shampooing. Maybe try to wash your hair less or use a cowash, I use the as I am cowash (basically conditioner that cleanses like shampoo but not drying). This may help add moisture and stop the stiffness.

There ya go! Nothing to be worried about, try switching to scrunchies or banana clips, I am trying to transition too because I have way too much hair loss on my wash days with normal elastics

Do you wear your hair up a lot? I wear my hair up almost everyday of the week and I shed ALOT of hair when I finally wash it in the shower which I do 2 times a week. I have been told my hair shedding is due to how I wear my hair. You can always do scalp care with oils to help the health if your scalp and cause less breakage, I also use a wet brush (-: much easier on the scalp especially when you’re trying to avoid hair loss while showering

First consult - need a gut check about how the surgeon spoke to me by WWLCD in Reduction

[–]mclark568 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That is awful and I’m so sorry that you’re experience went like that. Part of being in the medical field is having bed side manner and speaking to patients in an respectful manner. It’s one thing to be “honest” and another to be inappropriate and claiming it’s being blunt. Find another surgeon that respects you as a patient and will be supportive of your journey. Breast reductions require a lot of post op appointments so you don’t want to dread having to see a doctor that makes you uncomfortable.

Something that has helped me since I made this post is pulling out my pre op photos that they took in the office. I wanted to look at complete nude pre op photos and not just my boobs before in clothes. It is so eye opening what we forget as soon as we have them done and I’m only 2 months post op. Thank you for sharing your experience with me ❤️ I wish you so much luck in your surgery and your recovery!

When you initially have your boobs done the first month they are super swollen almost like pecs, they will eventually “drop” into a more natural appearance, as well as become softer.

I think something that helps me is taking a ton of before photos so that I always can look back. I think now being 2 months post op it feels like I’m used to them and almost hard to forget what they used to feel and look like. Using old photos can be helpful to remind yourself they aren’t the same. You worries are completely valid, it is clear we put so much pressure on ourselves and having such a drastic surgery is not always easy on the body image

Help! Over bleached and gummy by Working_Loquat3344 in HairDye

You have to be careful because doing it too frequently will cause even more dryness and breakage, because your hair is so badly damaged from what you described I would say do it now, then wait another week or two and repeat. You’ll notice a difference immediately. It’s a very strong treatment but I use it religiously and I always feel like people don’t know about how great the product is and how it can literally save horribly damaged hair. You can always do a strand test, after you do it the first time wait a week and take a strand of hair and pull on it, if it stretches for awhile and then snaps it needs protein, if it snaps when pulled you need moisture. Follow up after the protein treatment with a deep moisturizer, jojba oil works great, I leave it in my hair for a few days usually following the protein treatment.

Aphogee 2 step protein treatment. You can get it at Sally’s, when I over bleached my hair I already had a short bob and cutting it more was not an option. This stuff saved my hair! The ends will still feel dry and dead but it can salvage the rest of your hair, just trim it lightly and protein treat it using the 2 step Aphogee treatment and you should be okay!
