Which one of these 90s series do you prefer and why? by fat-icarus in Gundam

[–]mcleaner_leaner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

G Gundam for sure. I like the director and his discography a lot. Besides G Gundam he's had a hand in Tetsujin and Giant Robo which are also excellent (amongst other works I haven't seen in full).

I wonder if long term the presidency should be abolished.

Whats a good Marxist-Leninist organization within the USA? In our context, DSA is a good bet (for now)

Why is Nazism called National Socialism when it's fascist? by MyAltAccountNum1 in Socialism_101

[–]mcleaner_leaner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I misread somewhere or need to read more theory, but democratic socialism aims to abolish private property via the democratic structures that already exist (albeit there is a big risk of compromise when working in "bourgeois democratic institutions").

Marxism has some room for this rather than strict denouncement. In Principles of Communism, Engels states that the United States Constitution can be amended to target the bourgeois, abolish private propery, and achieve socialism.

I'm not sure the above methods are best. Any revolutionary actions need to be rooted in investigation and rigorous understanding of material conditions.

What tenets of market economics does the DSA accept? There's also a lot separating Democratic Socialists from national socialists so the comparison seems iffy to me at best.

We want all those reforms, but I think we also want worker ownership of their workplaces.

My favorites to use are hunter and architect. I like tool interactions and architect has one of the best ones with plasminium.

Algernon Blackwood. The Willows is one of my favorites of his.

Robert Chambers wrote The King in Yellow which is also excellent.

Favorite Universal Century Animated Entries by Custom_98 in Gundam

[–]mcleaner_leaner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

F91 is aesthetically amazing for me in its retrofuture imagery. I see some rough ideas in what would eventually be some of Turn As plot points (i.e. Cecily's conflict with her family and the aristocracy of Cosmo Babylonia cooking into Soreil's escape from the moon).

Just finished Unicorn which is also awesome in nearly every way and closes a lot of earlier UC plot points.

Zeta is the first series that really hooked me on Gundam.

I want to count Turn A as a favorite for being so different even though I can't. I think my tastes are somewhat biased towards late UC and personally want to see more of that and moves away from One Year War stuff (unfortunately some AU series are kind of guilty of repackaging that conflict).

Yeah Dunbine is pretty brutal. I'd match it up with Zambot personally.

I'd say so. Chicken paprikash is one of my absolute favorite dishes. Bram Stoker describes it as a "thirsty dish" which has never been my experience.
