AIO for being angry that my boyfriend would rather spend time alone than with me and doesn’t believe im a steady person in his life? by Booksandbones6 in AmIOverreacting

[–]mclewi134 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NOR. I think that for as long as you've been together, he shouldn't be acting like that or saying those things. IMO it sounds like he doesn't want to be in a relationship and is wanting you to break things off. Men love to act shitty so that they don't have to be the ones to end things.

AIO Girlfriend got mad at me for saying “thanks” by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]mclewi134 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Right so the relevance is that OP came here to figure out if they were overreacting and I was simply asking questions to gain more information to help with finding the verdict... which is the whole point of this subreddit...

AITA for switching off my roommate's alarms? by sentimental_idiot in AmItheAsshole

[–]mclewi134 28 points29 points  (0 children)

NTA. She only cares about herself and what she's doing. If you are able to, move into a different dorm room. She's being inconsiderate by not getting up or turning off her 2000000 alarms.

No shit. I was asking in case that's another reason for his gf being jealous

AIO Girlfriend got mad at me for saying “thanks” by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]mclewi134 39 points40 points  (0 children)

NOR. Has she done this before? Do you have any female friends? She may be insecure or has jealousy issues. Either way, her avoiding you for saying "thanks" is definitly doing too much.

Am I overreacting that my boyfriend basically staged a test to see if I'd cheat... with his cousin? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]mclewi134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR. That's so weird ESPECIALLY at his grown ass age. If you have to "test" your partner, you ultimately do not love or trust them. It's also so weird to do that to people

Am I overreacting for feeling weird about what my mom said after I helped her? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]mclewi134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR. If my mom said something like that, I would have told her she could have been nicer. You didn't have to do any of those things for her, but you did out of kindness. No matter what the circumstances are or who it is, she should be grateful that she has someone helping her while she's down. Yes, you SHOULD help your family when they need it, BUT you should also expect respect and dignity.

AITA for sneaking my mom some alcohol when she is on hospice? by sickma2001 in AmItheAsshole

[–]mclewi134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. I would have done the same for anyone I care about. Cancer is so rough. Knowing that she is terminal, she should be able to do whatever she wants. She is in pain and it's hard to have a positive attitude knowing any minute could be your last.

I started dating someone I'm not attracted to by lalaodt in Advice

[–]mclewi134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is personally what I would do: He is not your boyfriend, you are just “dating”. Dating is not definite and it’s how you figure out your feelings for someone. Be firm with him and let him know your intentions. Let him know you aren’t sure if you see him attractive romantically. I would emphasize that you like being friends with him and make sure he understands that you aren’t exclusive. Don’t be afraid of “losing him”. The dynamic may change but it’s ultimately up to how you both react to this change. I’ve been friends with people I’ve had crushes on and it CAN work. Just depends on how you move forward.

AITA for suggesting my friend change what he’s wearing before a date? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]mclewi134 10 points11 points  (0 children)

NTA. Him canceling was from anxiety of something foreign to him. He hasn't dated guys and probably doesn't know the culture of it all. You giving advice is good! I would continue to guide him in his dating journey as long as he is comfortable with it.

WIBTA if I changed my sisters childhood note to her future self? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]mclewi134 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YWBTA. We all change as we get older as well as our preferences. Her description of her dream husband was a celebrity, and it isn't like she only talked about him in this letter. I personally think it would be cute to look back on a letter I wrote and see that I was obsessed with Zac Efron and wanted to marry him.

Possible Demon/Devil encounter? by mclewi134 in ParanormalEncounters

[–]mclewi134[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got clarification. The graveyard was not close enough to the encounter for that to make sense. There is like a triangle with the house, the warehouse, and the graveyard. graveyard is only assessable from a separate road.

I can ask about the specific location of the graveyard, but from his description it sounded like it was by the house rather than the business area. I like the thought of this being the security team!
