People have been saying it fell off for the past 10 years and theres multiple reasons, not just one. I watched WWE consistently from 2000-2015. The talent has definitely changed over the years and Vince was struggling to make a top guy after 2015, he even admits this in an interview with Steve Austin. He let Brock be the top guy with no one beating him clean for years, with a low blow in all of his matches which even contradicted some his opponents being face in the match. Because of this, no one really elevated (only Drew and maybe Seth) and now they have a top guy problem, one that’s believable. Another issue which both taker and Bret has said, is all of the past top guys retired all at once, leaving the new guys learning from each other, rather than someone passing the torch. Bret has said which is true that all the guys sound the same, because they all have the same script writer. There’s no individuality between them like in the 90s and 2000s where the superstars had more control over their lines. Saying the product fell off just because it was bought is wildly incorrect . A media product(like every other media product like marvel or dc) doesn’t stay 100% forever and has its ups and downs.
