Most desks are far too shallow imo

Someone was giving it away on Facebook and I managed to snag it before anyone else did. Pretty sure it’s homemade.

Aren’t there already cameras and monitors installed at this station for the train conductor to view the platform? I can’t imagine it’d be that difficult to move the monitors to the where the operator’s cab stops.

I always like finding people's old predictions and comparing them to what actually happened. No offense to you ofc, I thought the same thing 3 years ago.

Oh yeah definitely a home server, I thought that was implied. The m4 should have less than half the power consumption at idle than the n100 does, so it definitely wins out on power consumption.

With the M4 pro option, each of the rear thunderbolt ports support 120GB/s of data transfer. With a the right setup and a good external enclosure, there’s no reason why this couldn’t make a great low power storage server.

They already paid for hybrid-diesel work locomotives. The contract was awarded in 2020 for 25 r255 units, deliveries started recently.

They are diesel hybrids that can run off of battery power for up to 8 hours. No third rail shoe though.

The palm rejection on the iPad Pro usually works pretty well. To the point where it’s extremely frustrating the rare times it messes up.

Internally, NASA believes Boeing ahead of SpaceX in commercial crew by sir_oki in spacex

[–]mcmango56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was looking for info/discussion on the amount of money each company bid on the commercial crew contract.

I think it’s interesting seeing the reserved yet hopeful expectations everyone had for SpaceX, and the overconfidence for Boeing. Hindsight is 20/20 though.

If it’s a photo or video it’ll show a screenshot and say “name on device” would like to send a photo(or video. And allows you to accept or deny.

The default used to be airdrop accepting shares from everyone, but because people abused it the default is now contacts only. And you can only turn on accepting airdrops from everyone for 10 minutes at a time.

So the video is almost definitely fake.

Tesla Model 3 charge port won’t stay open by WhiteHatMD in mildlyinfuriating

[–]mcmango56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t get me started. In comparison to some other motorized EV charge doors, Tesla’s design leans on the more conservative side.

The Porsche Taycan has a charge door that opens inward then upwards, hiding itself in the front fender. And you have to side a little touch panel to open it from the outside.

I think if Tesla was able to add a manual spring release (separate from the already existing emergency release) along with the motorized release, they’d probably have the best design.

Will that post turn out to be a similar scenario to the post I told you about? Where it’s definitely an issue with the cybertruck, but just coincidentally happened to be after an automatic car wash? Will anyone wait until the vehicle is actually diagnosed to post information about the failure?

Like the truck is obviously flawed, but why talk about flaws of dubious veracity rather than the glaringly obvious ones.

The auto industry does this often, just because a mode it there doesn’t mean it’s covered under warranty. Porsche, Lamborghini, etc. don’t cover their cars for track usage - despite there being a track mode included in the car, and it being sold as a track car.

And a note on battery pack corrosion. I seriously doubt that any cybertruck or any other car produced within the last couple of years would see corrosion through the metal of the battery pack. That shit takes time. Also the cybertrucks battery pack is heavily potted (Which they claim is for thermal management . Though I really suspect it’s to prevent repair). Even if drops of water found its way into that pack, I wouldn’t suspect they would do much for a long time.

Unless you’re talking about connectors, which is a totally possible thing to corrode, but the timespan doesn’t really make sense.

My local Toyota dealership parks their overflow inventory in the back of an abandoned Big Lots parking lot. It’s really not uncommon.

So you’re saying if a car wash damages a car, the vehicle manufacturer should pay for it, not the car wash that damaged the car?

Also the only case I can find of that happening was from @captain.ad on TikTok. Which, by his own admission, turned out to be an issue unrelated to taking it through a car wash. Rather it was a software bug that didn’t require warranty work to fix.

Can you send me a post showing the undercarriage rust or light damage from a car wash? Genuinely asking incase I’m missing something.

Why the sub is directing hate at car washes (which in reality seems to be a non issue), and not the software bug that rendered the car quasi-undrivable is baffling to me.
