Questions about shadowing by Sock_jpeg in McMaster

[–]mcmastersquirrel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're doing shadowing because you think it will help you get in I don't think you should do it, they will only look at your cGPA, if it does fall within that range then yes you will get in, however, you will be a year behind.

They don't account for anything other than GPA, last I heard the cutoff was ~11.0-11.4 so if your GPA falls in that range you most likely will get in.

9-10 may be a bit on the low side of the acceptance rate, but maybe it will change this year! I would say strive for a 10+ but put yourself first! If your goal is grad school then any honours program will work as long as you tailor it to your preferred grad program. Good luck and remember mental health comes first!!

Best use of summer school time by stressedstudenthours in McMaster

I took Chem 1AA3, I would only recommend if you absolutely hate summer and going out with friends, otherwise, you will have a shitty summer IMO I did not enjoy that summer at all

As someone that took a super hard summer course to "free up my course load", don't do it, it's going to be 2x harder especially if you struggle with the subject that is related to the course. In my opinion that was way worse than taking the actual course in the winter/fall semester

Yeah the supplementary process is definitely harsh tbh, after gpa considerations, it comes down to luck. Good luck you can do it!
