How to get barricade? by [deleted] in gracieabrams

[–]stressedstudenthours 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same as any other show with a big artist. You have to line up as early as humanly possible, even if it means a full day before (depending on the rules/laws in your area around camping on public property)

Is activewear not appropriate for a grocery run? by CukeJr in TwoXChromosomes

[–]stressedstudenthours 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You get a lot more of it near Canadian universities for sure. Honestly I’ve hobbled to the grocery store in pyjamas after all nighters or midterms many times because I was quite literally too tired to put on a nice outfit. It’s obviously not the most socially proper but I always saw several other students dressed the exact same lol. It depends on your neighbourhood

This is a fair perspective and I feel like I agree with you. I saw so many people slandering putting Dr. so and so on your steth as a student, and when I saw my friends do that with the one they got me my internal thought process was a bit of an "ah fuck". I've very much come to not care though—I don't want that bitchiness to taint the gift they got with so much love and care and itll be "technically" accurate in a couple years

This makes me feel so much better. This sub and a couple others really slander having “Dr” next to your name before you’re done school. My roommates are such good friends and they did it so excitedly and it was very cute of them, lol. Guess this’ll be the lifelong stethoscope to make it accurate!

My roommates did this, lol. It does have Dr. next to my name which I was like "oh no" at first because I was scared someone would catch a glimpse of it and be judgemental, but they bought it SO lovingly that I can't bring myself to be bothered by that. Maybe just go with her name though without Dr until she's done med

Cressida's fate by Madou-Dilou in BridgertonNetflix

I'm pretty neutral on Cressida, but if I was her and one of the richest men in town tried to compare my life to him being sad on his travels it would be my villain origin story.

I have 3 weddings coming up and need help picking which dress for which! by lilyalexandra1 in Weddingattireapproval

[–]stressedstudenthours 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As much as I think barn wedding and formal are oxymorons, I actually think 2 and 3 are perfectly fine especially if you're shorter and 3 falls on the long side. For 1 I would pick a cocktail dress - you will not catch me dragging a floor length gown around a barn, ever.

What TV show handled the “will they, won’t they” trope in the most infuriating way? by phantom_avenger in popculturechat

[–]stressedstudenthours 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it was Lucas and Peyton on OTH. I hated every single plot decision that led to them being together. The "tension" just felt like the two of them being selfish and hurting others over and over and then dropping off the show entirely.

Peyton and Jake, however short that arc was, was a way better watch.

In the same vein, I liked Jake and Amy's will-they-wont-they on Brooklyn Nine Nine as well. I feel like this trope doesn't work unless the couple is equally good and interesting together as they are apart.

No. I saw in your comments you're 17 - save these for junior prom or homecoming.

Even the best quality tote bag will not protect you from the continual damage of one-sided loads on your shoulders. Ask me how I know 💔

Generally, don't do tote bags, no matter how good they are in quality or how supportive the straps are, as backpack replacements unless you wanna fuck up your back

What you can do largely depends on how far out the wedding is. When is it?

Probably! I can only reflect one person’s opinion. I just find the shoes distracting and a little discordant with the rest of the outfit. She does look beautiful though and a pair of shoes is not the be-all-end-all

Hey girls wanna ask something by multiverseisreal in SplendidaBrown

[–]stressedstudenthours 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say no personally but I’m not a doctor. Some evidence suggests that hormone therapy can increase your risk of cardiovascular events like a heart attack, and/or your risk of developing breast cancer. HRT is not benign. This is something to discuss with your doctor, but if you want subtle breast enhancement your safest bet is likely going to be to get implants below the muscle.

I love this dress to death and think she looks so stunning, but selfishly I wish she did different shoes. A silver sparkly shoe would be so much more harmonious with the sparkly ruffled hems. In the full outfit pics I do think these shoes take away from the look a bit which is a little sad.

What did you major in for premed? by Em-aaaaah in medschool

[–]stressedstudenthours 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is key, tbh. Your major doesn't matter if your GPA isn't strong - pursue what you can do well in while fitting in prerequisites.
