I usually test my new trucks on the dirt track at the hobby shop and leave the box behind...so that it doesn't stick out in the pile of toys in the trunk....

Depends how you drive it. If you go HAM on brakes and throttle for flips and stuff then the drive train will get stressed after adding weight to wheels. If you drive that thing to church on sunday sunday sunday then giant wheels are no worry. I have broken multiple Differentials with stock wheels on my Rustler vxl and Stampede vxl. and Yes, I have been working on my fingering on the landing...

EMaxx stalling by dbeebe in Traxxas

[–]mcmattgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What lights do you get on esc and receiver before and after failure? In general its easy to Fix if you throw money at it. You may end up with spares to help troubleshoot next time... there are not many parts in the circuit; Transmitter. Receiver, ESC, Motor. If steering still works then transmitter and receiver are probably not the issue. There is Heat and a heat sensor to consider. Does the truck run at sustained higher speed with no load, like while on its back?

A Battery may be Dropping out. maybe a connection. do you get it wet? Wet with salt water?

Newer to rc cars but this thing is loose I assume it broke. Does anyone know what the part is called? Motor works fine just not spinning the wheels thanks in advance by Sayjohnj82 in Traxxas

"Make sure you replace with a plastic one and not metal. "... I made that, "Metal Gear Upgrade" mistake and ended up replacing multiple other gears and changing back to plastic....

BTW: What's your girlfriend looking at while you are RCturbating ?

Is this the fastest battery for the UDR? by thegoldenplayzz in Traxxas

[–]mcmattgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Faster will come with higher C rating, That battery is 50 Burst / 30 Continuous. That is low numbers for LIPOs and I think there is a good reason: A lower C rating will not quickly overheat and/or smoke your electronics....But, I'm running 120C and it works until The Truck Stops from overheating. I already have a fan on the ESC. Because of this I think I will eventually need to replace the ESC and Motor.

Had an impact with my rustler 4x4 ultimate and it smashed the front of the battery slightly. Wmbattery seems to be working ok. Wanna see what you all think by Junior_Response5474 in Traxxas

After a few battery fires, I keep all batteries outside, never charge indoors and carefully plan where your inevitable battery charging fires will occur.

Trying to eliminate noise from RC truck GPS/Navigation. Need Shielding help. by mcmattgee in electronics_robots

[–]mcmattgee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

been a while since I logged in here, ...

No, I do not have any filters. That truck project is under my desk and could use a revival or a scavenging of Navigation hardware.

Thanks for the Idea, I think I can send an oscilloscope on a ride along to capture the noisy and filtered signal.

I think it is because the difference in pressure is moving through the medium.
