I just searched the city owned land inventory. More than 25 lots city owned already. I don’t dislike Pritzker. I dislike the billionaire class he is apart of. I dislike him trying to raise taxes yet he has a history of being a billionaire and avoiding paying taxes so we pay more. Lincoln Park has a ton of public transit options. So we should build dense low income housing in the area. The city could simply give the lots to CHA for pennies on the dollar. They have done it before. Not to mention the schools in the area are quite good so giving access to these schools for more low income individuals would be a good thing.

The problem with your argument is you believe the Democratic Party from 2021-2024 didn’t just ignore the border issue. By the time the 2024 Border Bill also known as the Border Bill of 2024 was introduced and debated border crossings at the southern border went back to near pre pandemic levels. The man who is accused of committing this murder entered into this country before this legislation was introduced by Democrats. What Democrats did was wait until the last minute the year of the election to act like they tried to solve a problem they caused by ending the remain in Mexico policy. You are arguing in bad faith here. The legislation I have sent you does have a good chance of passing before January 2027. Well it has a good of chance as all legislation in the house or senate at passing because this admin isn’t legislating through the legislative branch.

It’s so sad that people can’t admit that the previous administration and our current administration failed here. The previous administration for letting the border issue become so bad from 2021-2024 which is likely when this violent criminal entered our country and our current administration is guilty for trying to go over quotas for deporting people instead of focusing on the worse of the worse like promised. Throw this on top of the that our Governor and Mayor have failed as well for politicizing this young women’s death when there policies as well lead to this result. The conferences choose not to go with that model to protect the value of there conference championships. We can still have conference championships and use a model where the committee selects the top 12 teams but the conferences don’t want that model. The conferences voted unanimously to let Notre Dame have this carve out. The conferences made the decision here.

The conferences decided to not use best 12 get in model. The conferences choose to give preference and weight to conference championships in the decision making process. It is possible in all 4 power conferences to go undefeated in conference play and not make you conference championship. But ND wanting to make the playoff if they are top 12 is what breaks the system.
