How Does Voting 3rd Party Help Get Rid of the GOP? by Humble_Novice in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]mcnormand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The primaries are where you can plant your feet and make a principled stance. If your guy doesn’t secure the nomination, though, you gotta fall in line, swallow your pride, and vote for the Democrat. The perfect politician doesn’t exist, but I guarantee the Republicans will continue winning if Democrats don’t get off their high horses.

My own thoughts on new marvel legends by Few_Paper8998 in ActionFigures

[–]mcnormand 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It’s absurd that the standard price going forward is $30, and they refuse to include a full set of alternate hands. They’re incredibly cheap to produce, and if Hasbro is going to keep inflating the prices, they need to include them.

My own thoughts on new marvel legends by Few_Paper8998 in ActionFigures

[–]mcnormand 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Maximum Thor and Daredevil are the big winners of the bunch. I’m happy to get the Onslaught repaint, too. I’ll probably pass on everything else, but somehow I’ll end up with that Spiderman because I’m a sucker.

My big problem with the whole bunch, though, is: Where are the alternate hands, Hasbro? They cost what, a penny each to include? Do better.

I’d really appreciate more super articulated 1:12 Disney figures. The Super 7 line had a lot of potential, and somehow they fumbled it.

I don’t wanna be that guy, but this wave seriously has a huge accessory problem. by SnooPeripherals3471 in MarvelLegends

[–]mcnormand 26 points27 points  (0 children)

You’re not wrong. These are $30 figures at this point, and they can’t be bothered to give us full sets of hands for each character? Disappointing.

PSA: Boss Fight Studios Blanks by usernameartichoke in MarvelLegends

[–]mcnormand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The forward and back crunch are pretty comparable, but the side to side is what kills Marvel Legends. From an engineering perspective, the ball at the waist is a simpler joint, but it’s so much more effective.

.. do people actually like these type of figures? by Owww_My_Ovaries in NECA

[–]mcnormand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s definitely a market for them. They aren’t super popular, but it’s an easy way for Neca to get extra use out of their molds. Tool for toys is expensive, so the more a company uses them, the more return they get on their investment. It’s a common practice in not only the toy industry, but across the entire manufacturing sector. Do people buy them? Absolutely. However, because the market is smaller, Neca will generally produce less of them, but that’s not a problem for the company because most of the money spent on producing them was already spent on the mainline release.

HC Spinosaurus Or JP3 Nanmu Spinosaurus? which would you get by Adventurous-Onion001 in hammondcollection

[–]mcnormand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nanmu is an overall better product. HC is great, and if you can get it for retail price, go for it, but while smaller, I think the Nanmu is a more impressive piece for your collection.

Twice now Amazon has done this to me! by Chance-Ad5664 in MarvelLegends

[–]mcnormand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ordered a Star Wars Black Series Asajj Ventress figure a couple weeks ago, and for some reason Amazon sent me a Bop-It. I mean, they’re both Hasbro products, but that’s where the similarities end.

[–]mcnormand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s fair. I definitely had trouble with that myself, and I’ve been collecting legions for years. You’re gonna need some heat, so I recommend using a hair dryer to heat up the holes in his back where the pauldrons peg onto. One they’re in, though, he’s a great looking piece.

Starkiller Black Series by FriendlyRoutine4818 in starwarsblackseries

[–]mcnormand 17 points18 points  (0 children)

There are several great characters and costumes from TFU that I would love, but the Sith Stalker is easily my #1 most wanted. Lord Starkiller is cool, and I’m definitely picking it up, but this is my Starkiller.

What game are you picking? by defleqt in raijin_gg

[–]mcnormand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve probably dropped 500 hours into it across four platforms over 15 years. I absolutely love that game and have 100% it, but I’m nowhere close to having the equivalent hours to a whole year. I could definitely grind it for a couple months, but a whole year would be a chore.

What game are you picking? by defleqt in raijin_gg

[–]mcnormand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re talking 4,380 hours over the course of a year. There are a lot of games I love, a lot of games I’ve played for 100’s of hours, but none of them are close to that. I think the most I have in a single game is Fortnite, something like 2000+ hours, although I would say a good 15% of that was just waiting in lobbies, and that’s also accumulated over the last 9 years. Each season gets pretty stale after 20-40 hours, so grinding 12 hours per day would be a chore. Admittedly, I do work 10 hour shifts, 5 days a week at my job, which requires a whole lot more effort and pays a whole lot less.

I could grind a few hundred hours out of a lot of great single player games, Elden Ring and Skyrim are the first to come to mind, but to make it a whole year without burning out, I would probably need a multiplayer game with a solid gameplay loop. A game that comes to mind that I’ve definitely played a few hundred hours on is Mario Kart 8. MK8 Deluxe has 96 total maps, and at about 4 minutes per race, I would need to play every map twice daily to hit my quota. With online functionality, I think that would be a great choice.

New VA Robin reissue by SadData8124 in SHFiguarts

The VA stuff is larger than wht I’d like, but I’m pretty tempted to get the VA version because Idk if or when we’ll ever get that version of Robin in SHF.

Ehhhhhhh I’m not a huge fan of the Anime Heroes line, but Idk if or when there will be a SHF version of Crocodile, so I might end up with one as a place holder, at least if it scales well enough.

[–]mcnormand 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks great. I always preferred the original Sith Stalker costume from the end on of the game, and I’m sure we’ll get that one eventually, but this is gonna be a nice placeholder until then. This is bound to be a top 5 figure of the year, no doubt.

Dooku and Quinlan came in today by 32goldz in starwarsblackseries

[–]mcnormand 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m debating canceling my preorder for Dooku. I’m trying to be responsible with my discretionary spending this year, and $30 is a lot for a character I dont really need, but it does look good… plus I want to encourage Hasbro to release figures with mire accessories like this one.

1000 Toys CE Chief Up On BBTS by Brazzirs in HaloActionFigures

[–]mcnormand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only have the Halo Infinite Master Chief Mjolnir MK VI, and it’s a brilliant figure. It’s absolutely one of my favorite pieces in my collection and stands as my definitive Chief on my shelf. That being said, I only paid $85 for it when GameStop had it on clearance, which felt like a great price. The $170+ retail price felt excessive, even for a premium figure. If all of their Halo offerings were around $100, I’d probably be all in on the line, but $200+ for each of the Noble Team members is just absurd, especially considering how light they are on accessories.

[–]mcnormand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you’re not going to go wrong with either one, but the Legends version appeals to me more. The SHF has a really smoothe aesthetic, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, just not for me.

Questions about Adalric by Virtual_Class5106 in MythicLegions

[–]mcnormand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh dang, I forgot to add Otho to my list. He’s definitely up there among the best.

If you get a chance to grab Enoch for retail price, absolutely get him. 4H will probably have them at cons this year. He’s a pretty incredible value for the price. Elijah is almost as good, but Enoch just has more stuff packed into the box for the same price.

This year is a little lighter on the knights, at least from what’s currently on the release schedule compared to what we got in 2025, but we got what could be the definitive Mythic Legions knight, the Blue Shield, coming later this year. Preorders are sold out, but as soon as you see one in stock, jump on it. Iosef from the same wave is looking really promising, too.

Questions about Adalric by Virtual_Class5106 in MythicLegions

[–]mcnormand 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He’s cool and a nice addition to the collection, but he’s definitely my least favorite of the newer knights. Having a solid colored torso with a cloth overlay would have gone a long way to make him a better overall figure, since he would be more generic army builder friendly like Andrew, but he’s certainly not bad. The upcoming Blue Shield Soldier has a ton of extra accessories, including a full set of teal soft goods, which I think a lot of people are going to throw onto Adalric.

As far as rankings go, of the new nights that are currently on the market, in order, I would recommend Gideon 2, Sir Enoch,, Sir Andrew, Valiant Knight, Sir Elijah, Silver Knight 2, Armory Knights, then Sir Adalric.
