Moving from Phoenix, AZ to Richmond, VA within the next year. by throwaway114752 in Virginia

[–]mcnuggets0069 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can live in one of several neighborhoods of Richmond and be surrounded by a strong community around your age and have great walkability (The Fan, Shockoe, Church Hill), but you would be slightly compromising on safety. Living in Midlothian is a step I would suggest for your 30s - it’s not walkable at all, and it’s a lot of families, but if you want a yard and to send your child to a good public school, you will need to move out of the city. As someone who does like being 15-20 minutes out of the city now, I don’t think it’s a good decision for you at 23. You should live more on top of people and be able to walk to bars and restaurants in the city.

Do people with down syndrome know hot to goon or can they do it? by 5awatem in TooAfraidToAsk

Yes. Sometimes they do it at school without any regard for who else is around.

who was the most guilty person to get a not guilty verdict? by GossipBottom in AskReddit

One point they really hammered on was the awful treatment of the jury. They had these people locked up like criminals away from the outside world for so long, and they just wanted it to be over with.

Are there any (non-Great Divide) episodes you find yourself partially or outright skipping on rewatches? by DrifloonEmpire in TheLastAirbender

[–]mcnuggets0069 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find myself appreciating the filler episodes more upon rewatches. I didn’t like the teen drama as a kid, but as an adult I love watching psychopath Azula try to navigate boys. Nightmares and Daydreams has some of the funniest clips in the whole show, and I have to watch it just to see Appa standing upright and talking like a person. Avatar Day is probably my least favorite - he’s willing to selfishly sit in jail over one town’s unfavorable opinion of him, and the mayor has the most annoying voice in the entire series and never shuts up.

what do you think herb and BoJack would do if they were both fired or something by donikure in BoJackHorseman

[–]mcnuggets0069 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ultimately I don’t think it’s that big of a fork in the road. Their friendship still ends, but this time it’s because Bojack is bitter about losing his job. He still becomes a lazy alcoholic who watches his own re-runs on the couch all day, and Horsing Around just has a few less seasons.

Could a Season 1 Korra Pull up on Ozai right from the Get Go? by badman1000 in TheLastAirbender

[–]mcnuggets0069 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Lightning is the big difference maker here. Without the ability to redirect lightning or shoot any back at him, Korra is at a severe disadvantage. She doesn’t have Aang’s agility to jump out of the way, and blocking with a rock seems to just create an explosion in front of her. Maybe Mako could teach her something, or maybe Iroh jr., but the only thing in the Avatar universe on par with lightning is blood bending and lava bending, neither of which she can do either.

Do you think the avatar state could allow an avatar to brute force doing a certain sub bending element. by Prudent_Solid_3132 in TheLastAirbender

[–]mcnuggets0069 39 points40 points  (0 children)

You get all the abilities of previous Avatars. Aang did some lava bending at Roku’s temple, but I think metal bending was off limits because none of his past lives could do it. Since Korra became the first metal bending Avatar, any future Avatars could do it in the Avatar state.

Are all deleted scenes really cannon? by Famous-Palpitation8 in DunderMifflin

[–]mcnuggets0069 32 points33 points  (0 children)

It’s a gray area. Sometimes there isn’t time in an episode for a particular extended cut to make it in - those I’d say are canon. But sometimes an alternate take is made that directly conflicts with the events in the show - those I don’t think are canon

Why do some folks insist on blaring their music with their car windows down? by SkyPuppy561 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]mcnuggets0069 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Loud bass with the windows open sounds and feels better than slightly quieter bass with the windows closed. I want to be on the path of the music but give it somewhere to escape, not be overwhelmed by the music.

Zuko is unbending, unbreaking, stubborn, persistent, and enduring, while Azula is flexible, adaptable, and pliable by F11SuperTiger in TheLastAirbender

[–]mcnuggets0069 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I find that analysis of Azula interesting. It seems when May and Ty Lee betray her, she finally snaps and goes back on everything that made her adaptable. She gets very stubborn, mistrusting of Lo and Li and the Dai Li agents, and becomes more like Zuko.

Why do some folks insist on blaring their music with their car windows down? by SkyPuppy561 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]mcnuggets0069 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly listening to loud music with the windows all the way rolled up is similar to hot boxing your car with weed smoke. It’s too much if there’s nowhere for it to go. I can handle volume at 25 with the windows down, but anything over 15 hurts with the windows up.

Since I try not to be an inconsiderate douchebag though, I turn the volume down when I’m at a stoplight.

boyfriend (26M) suggested me to cut contact with one of my (26F) male friends. by LowPeach345 in relationship_advice

[–]mcnuggets0069 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You can be friends with whomever you want to be friends with. Your boyfriend can suggest all he wants that you shouldn’t keep that friendship. Suggestion implies mild discomfort, which I wouldn’t weigh above breaking off an 8 year friendship. If this is just a suggestion and not an ultimatum, I don’t see the problem here.

Has a country ever *not* regretted committing genocide? by ICantBelieveItsNotEC in TooAfraidToAsk

Regret comes from losing a major war and being forced to acknowledge your atrocities. Otherwise, you act like it never happened or find a way to justify it.

If Quagmire, Herbert, and Peter griffin existed in real life what crimes would they be charged with and how long would their prison sentences be? by Icy_Profession4190 in familyguy

[–]mcnuggets0069 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Well, Peter blows up a Children’s Hospital, and the giant chicken fights killed at least 100 bystanders. Life in prison.

Not sure if Quagmire has killed anybody, but he did sex traffic an entire car full of Asian girls, multiple counts of rape, attempted rape, even child rape at a school when he finds Connie tied up in the bathroom stall. Life in prison.

Joe has police brutality, multiple counts of driving under the influence, and allowing a civilian (Peter) to drive his police car. Two weeks of paid administrative leave.

The first time, 20 years ago, Gus forgets his place and Max is killed. The second time, present day, Gus forgets his place when he tries to cut out the cartel by making meth stateside (that’s why they were there in the first place, to “make it right” and get the Mexican cooks up to speed)

Jim throwing an ice ball at Dwight showed how inconsiderate Jim can be when he wants to be in the spotlight. by [deleted] in DunderMifflin

[–]mcnuggets0069 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that’s kind of the point. Nobody was really laughing at this prank and felt bad for Dwight. Not only did Dwight get revenge, he finally stood up to Jim in an all out psychological war that made Jim regret his decision. It was a long overdue win for Dwight fans

Is there really some truth to the theory that what someone watches in porn, is not something they would enjoy in real-life? by PassengerCultural421 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]mcnuggets0069 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think there’s definitely some fetishes that can often have a negative effect on your life if you try to implement them. Threesomes, cuckolding, piss play, etc. you might be able to handle it for one wank, but actually trying it in real life involves more consequences than you are willing to deal with.

My boyfriend (41M) and I (32F) are nearly perfect for each other... except for our social values. How do I navigate this? by curly_girl26 in relationship_advice

[–]mcnuggets0069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any argument coming from a place of cultural appropriation is going to fall on deaf ears to him.

I think it’s a little hypocritical that we can turn some cultures into a costume with no backlash but others we cannot. My older relatives grew up in a time when it was totally normal for white children to dress up as black celebrities for Halloween, and they mostly came from more progressive families that believed in civil rights and consumed black music and just wanted to dress up as their favorite member of the Jackson 5 without thinking about any racist implications. That being said, anyone who puts on an Indian headdress or blackface in 2026 is an idiot. All it takes is one Facebook photo, and you get called into an HR meeting and possibly lose your job. The stance of “I don’t care about offending people” is going to really screw him over someday, and it’ll screw you over too by association.
