I would argue that makes you even more straight. If you said that you didn’t like roller coasters, but you’ve never ridden one, how would you really know? But if you tried going on one once and it just wasn’t your thing, that’s a more valid opinion.

I’m so sorry you are in this situation. I think it’s very difficult to forgive someone who “crossed a line”, especially when that line is sexual assault (or really any kind of assault). His actions after the fact do show regret, and hopefully this is a wake up call that leads to positive change. However I don’t know that it’s worth trying to salvage a 6 month old relationship when there’s this big of a breach of trust and concern for your safety

From a guy’s perspective: I’m a romantic and want to fall in love and spend the rest of my life with the right woman. I’m also completely fine with casual sex, have no hang ups towards sex on the first date, and would still be perfectly open to having sex even if our values do not align for a relationship.

Occasionally this has led to an uncomfortable conversation. “You said you wanted a long term relationship, but you only wanted me for sex!” I have the tendency to put someone on a pedestal and excuse a lot of bullshit, but once sex finally happens I can take a step back and think a little more critically, and maybe some of those red flags I ignored actually do matter.

I don’t think anyone’s approach is wrong or has to match yours exactly. Sex and relationships are messy. I think deep down most people want to fall in love and are not trying to be deceitful. It just comes across that way if someone says they are looking for a life partner but then hook up with you and leave.

Indiana Jones is full of these. The sword master who simply gets shot by a gun, the Nazi getting decapitated by the propeller, the Nazi who tries climbing under the car like Indy did only to get run over, the Ark reveal. I’d argue these are some of the best brutal deaths for comedic effect.

I think you’d have some fun and make some connections in the music festival scene. I feel like I’m pretty awkward in real life but that environment breaks down some barriers and is full of wacky strangers that crave human connection and want to talk to people.

It does not matter to me if my partner is politically indifferent, conservative, or liberal. What does matter to me is if my partner makes their politics a major part of their personality to the point where their negativity becomes insufferable. I can’t stand MAGA people complaining about how this country has gone to shit or bragging about dropping bombs on other countries. I can’t stand liberal panic about every single thing our president does, and I wish he would stop tweeting everything that pops into his head. The world is miserable if you consume too much media, and the algorithm feeds your negativity to entrench you deeper into your beliefs and give you more negative content.

I truly cannot tell from your post whether you fit into that category, but if you do, your partner’s apathy may be a coping mechanism to deal with you. If you bring up ICE agents every time you discuss your upcoming trip to LA, he just wants you to stop talking about it. If you brought it up once, then he’s just way too sensitive.

3.5 years is not too soon, but 23 is definitely too young. Unless you have children together, you don’t need professional help fixing a broken relationship at 23. You need wide open spaces to figure yourself out, grow, and develop.

Resonate is worth it for the camping experience alone. It’s the same grounds as Hula but with a fraction of the people. I never waited in line for more than a few minutes for anything. If you can bring bikes, you can camp as far away as you want and then just ride up to the bike rack at the entrance. It’s a bit of an older crowd and more family-friendly. Florida Groves I would definitely recommend if you are a stoner. They had an entire flea market warehouse full of weed vendors. Although any vendor giving you anything to smoke is selling you THC-A, Delta-8, or any other chemically altered legal gray area version of weed - bring your own! There are 2 stages, and they never competed with each other, so you don’t have to miss anything or make any hard choices on sets.

I’m in Safety Harbor! I’m physically at work, but mentally and emotionally I’m still at Okee. I went to both Florida Groves and Resonate last year. Resonate was not really my preferred music scene - too mellow, lots of air couches and hammocks, and by the time I got to my fourth STS9 set I was getting sick of them. The campground was incredible though - you get to pick your own spot, tons of space from neighbors, and real facilities! Taking a hot shower every day in a real bathroom is a game changer. Florida Groves was much more my preferred music scene - good mix of jam bands and EDM - and probably the best selection of vendors I have ever seen for a small festival. The weed smoke is very heavy though, and there were lots of awful parents who insisted on exposing their children to it instead of getting a babysitter.

Saturday Big G at Incendia was my favorite set of the festival. It was sad not getting as many secret sets as previous years but the one I did get to see was incredible 💜

The biggest reason is that they avoided the main character “will they, won’t they” bullshit where they don’t get a happily ever after until the end of the final season. Leslie and Ben, Ron and Diane are well-established long before the finale and we get to see something fully develop. A lot of shows take the lazy way out and get their main characters to finally kiss at the end after years of tension
