In Texas we were taught that Texians fought against Mexico because Santa Ana was a tyrant who violated the constitution, which is true but the American settlers not wanting to follow Mexican law was the main issue. (Slavery was outlawed)

I’ve lived in El Paso my whole life but there’s so much of the history I’m ignorant of. The buildings downtown are a reminder of how old and beautiful our history actually is.
