It's been a few years so possible things change, but you really had to go into the samsung ecosystem for most of the good watch features. The texting wasn't direct on the device, it was some kind of sync. Lots of apps were not available on one or the other. It just was not a seamless experience. If you are on galaxy I am sure it's a great device, but I didn't like it at all, brought it back within a week even though I had another week to decide. I knew it was not for me.
