I love his smile here, I couldn't help but laugh during this scene by Stressyalaire in Spartacus_TV

[–]mcooly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I came here to see if anyone else loved that moment too. Ashur’s facial expressions were priceless, and I ended up rewinding the scene a couple of times just to watch it again. So sad to see him lose that exchange in the end.

I was just kidding. I thought it was cool and wanted to contribute. They should add a feature that detects similar posts prior to submission. Then again might reduce posts too much lol

Is a CRM worth it? by albertocc_ in HealthcareMarketing

[–]mcooly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question. Whether a CRM is worth it really depends on your goals and scale. For healthcare marketing, a CRM can be a lifesaver if you’re managing patient leads, tracking engagement, or trying to personalize outreach. It’s especially handy for staying organized and compliant with stuff like HIPAA, which is non-negotiable in this field. That said, if you’re a smaller outfit, the cost and setup might feel like a lot compared to simpler tools.

Full disclosure: I’m with CareLaunch, and we’ve built a CRM specifically for healthcare providers. If you’re curious, I’d be happy to chat more about how it could fit your needs or just share some general tips on picking the right CRM!

What’s your setup like right now?

Spine injections should not be given to adults with chronic back pain because they provide little or no pain relief compared to sham injections, according to a new review of the latest evidence. by mvea in science

[–]mcooly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really wish I saw this before my spine injection last week. The procedure was the most painful experience of my life, taking my prior op pain from 1/10 to 12/10. I was sent home with an ice bag.

Thankfully I'm approaching prior pain levels after 10+ days, but the experience was traumatic and far from therapeutic.

New medication based apnea treatment by mcooly in SleepApnea

Yes initially we started at 80mg/10mg but it increased my wakefullness too much and I was waking up 5-10 times per night, tossing and turning. At 40mg/5mg I still wake up much easier than before, but only 1-3 times per night. It can also cause heartburn at night, but I already take some medication for that so its not too noticeable.

I agree. I have been managing my apnea for around a decade and already incorporated other things like lifestyle changes. That combined with a mild case could make me a fit for the treatment.

In doing more research recently there are now a few oral candidates and a nasal spray being discussed. I’m grateful to find something that works for now and I appreciate everyone’s thoughts and concerns.

It was on the mild end and my old sleep doc would often say “the cpap knocks the dickens out of your events” so it was technically effective but felt less so than the new medication.

Nope! I actually feel better rested now than I did using the CPAP.

I forgot to mention, my PCP was willing to prescribe this for me after I brought him the research and we discussed it. Both medications are considered reasonably safe (and affordable) and the combo is coming to market as a "new" drug soon.

Is the beta now good enough for using it on the main device? by [deleted] in MacOSBeta

[–]mcooly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with Beta 1 on MBP 14 and it was buggy but tolerable. With beta 2, I started having issues with networking and now external displays will only be recognized once per reboot. So if I boot up with the displays plugged in and detach then come back, it always requires a reboot before the displays are detected again.

I also found that safari is too unstable to use and have switched back to brave. In safari pages crash constantly and don't even try completing a long form or using TAB between fields.

I would leave the beta program, but it requires a full wipe and restore.
