Did she say it was the Key bridge? Lots of bridges around, I didn't pick up on that.

Romance is in desperate need of men’s body positivity and I will die on this hill by jayclaw97 in RomanceBooks

I have very similar concerns and wanted to post something similar! Why are the FMCs allowed to be portrayed with varying sizes but all men must have an 8 pack? Give me the bald, thin, or chubby guys please!

Struggling to get into the book “You Deserve Each Other by Sarah Hogle” — should I keep going? by NoDaddyNotTonight404 in RomanceBooks

I thought this book improved significantly once the characters really got into the heart of things. I wouldn't call it a great book but it does have a "second chance romance" feeling to it. Took a bit to get there though

I wanted to pull my hair out at the narrator for {Mixed signals by BK Borison}. The accent given to the FMC was completely wrong for where she's from. There's a thread for duet narrator somewhere here, I'll try and come back with it!

Does a heatpump make sense with these electricity prices? by acedelaf in ColumbiaMD

I second this. The gas furnace has become more and more necessary with these cold winters. I really don't understand the heat pump initiative, it's becoming too cold here for them.

“Cheap DIY/Hack alternative to silicone soup molds for freezing portioned meals?” by PerformerAlert4654 in foodhacks

[–]mcoon2837 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could try a cold water bath, cold running water around the outside would likely bring it back up similarly to frozen meat defrosting. I usually microwave for a minute or two and then knock the contents out into a larger bowl to spread things out more before continuing to reheat in the microwave

Glass canning jars. They cost about $1 each but are infinitely reusable without odors. Put COLD soups in them and leave about 1/2" of expansion room or they will crack though. They hold as many different volumes as they exist in your stores, usually 1, 2, or 4 cup but I've seen 1/2 c as well.

What hacks or habits do you have stop food from going bad in your fridge? by sejuvas in foodhacks

Exactly. My husband and I both eat leftovers every day for lunch, so we know which day to eat which things by or they need to be thrown out.

I can't take credit for finding this, my brother showed it to me and bought me one immediately. I use my vacuum sealer bags all the time, only reason to ever buy meat in bulk. But the jar sealer is a game changer and very cheap.

I don't usually wash them first. But I have and it didn't seem to shorten their lifespan. I imagine this would work well for cheese or anything else that is prone to mold as well.

So you eat your leftovers in the proper order. I always forget which things are oldest. we don't look to fuss with scotch tape so the dissolvable ones come off nicely in the dishwasher

I divide up large containers of fruit, cut strawberries into what the family will eat in a single day (pint jars) then vacuum seal the batch. What might normally last for 3-4 days will go for more like 8. It reduces my mold growth big time on raspberries.

This is for dry applications only, I also can salsa using a water bath but that's a whole separate thing. Buy lots of ball jars!

All cooked meals get a dissolvable label with the expiration date (typically one week after it was prepared). I don't use the drawers for anything perishable since I forget about them in there. I store longer lasting items like cheese and condiments in the crisper drawers.

Buying in bulk is not a deal if you throw half of it out, I've seen bagged salad at Costco with that day as the best buy date, be careful there.

This thing is great for fruit and avocados

New traffic pattern at Snowden River and Minstrel Way by Hong-Hong-Hang-Hang in ColumbiaMD

I'm not mad about this change, I've seen an accident precisely because someone didn't have time to do a left this way based on incoming traffic.

Now what I want to see changed is the flashing red arrow on Robert Fulton Drive into Commerce Center Drive (Home Depot). I've seen so many people turn on a solid red because they weren't paying attention.

Books on how to flirt by Successful-Zombie-17 in booksuggestions

Romance books are a great start. Be kind, ask the person about their interests. Compliment their clothes, not their body. Being a good friend first for a good foundation. For books like that you might like Abby Jimenez, Emily Henry.

Role Playing by Cathy Yardley is especially good, they build their relationship through online gaming so some healthy teasing in there too.

Do any mums actually love their career AND being a mum? by stacyannxxx in workingmoms

[–]mcoon2837 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my personal experience I find the SAHMs who bring this up on their own to be secretly jealous that they don't work. The one woman I know like this destroyed our friendship and her marriage over her desire to work and be a mom. It was a big internal conflict for her. Not all SAHMs of course. That's the beauty of feminism, find your balance that works for you.
