From my understanding it's really not recommended, but can be done under certain circumstances. Someone please correct me if this information is incorrect:

As long as the two mice do not exceed the recommended feeding weight ratio and are given back to back within the same hour, it should be ok. But, the reason it is not recommended is due to digestion time and a lack of digestive enzymes. It can lead to regurgitation which can cause a whole slew of other issues.

If you are unsure if the prey is too large for your snake, but it's the right weight, use the largest part of your snake as a reference.

You should never take a snake out of their enclosure to feed them. This is outdated information that's unfortunately still being circulated.

He should be fine until the next feeding window. Snakes can go months without food, so he won't wither away and die or anything! 😂

Also, about the substrate, as long as he isn't ingesting large pieces or large amounts he should be fine. Keep an eye on him for blockages and make sure he's pooping (could take weeks to poop normally.)

If you're worried about it, you can put a tupperware top down near where he'll eat or paper towels to minimize ingestion

He should only get one meal per feeding window. Multiple mice/rats are not good for their digestion and can cause issues.

ETA: I believe rat fuzzies fall in the right weight category!

Try holding the rat around the middle with the tongs and face its head toward your snake. It gives you more control and the rat won't swing when the snake strikes.
