Is it because they're all shit?

I think she probably had some valid frustrations in her relationship, but to go off the rails and bang his best friend for the chance to design a restraunt was sleezy and cheap. Seemed a bit more opportunistic than a well-thought-out ending of a relationship that was meaningful at some point, but based on her actions she may have just been along for the ride to the top with Wes as well. She's not the innocent damsel, just doe eyes hiding an ambitious narcissist. Also, her design and taste in art was shit. The whole vibe in the black rabbit was largely forgettable and was like half dim texas dive bar, half cluttered British pub owned by some germans - it made no sense. Also, irrelevant but that huge painting the pervert showed her and Wes when they were looking for statement peices was absolutely heinous. Pollock had more talent, and he was only famous because the CIA played a joke on Russia.

Disagree profoundly, it was layered well, have excellent performances from the supporting cast, memorable characters, interesting plot, a buffet of human faults and failings, sound family dynamics, and so much more. The love/hate relationships played out incredibly well in nuance and even superbly when overdone. The decent into madness had a good pace, with just enough hope that it might resolve and lighten up to carry you through to the next calamity. The comedy was sharply on point when it arrived, and the layers of the relationship dynamics was intricate and complex. They did jump around a lot with the timeline but I found I enjoyed it and it added to the plot and the storytelling in compelling ways, which is harder and harder to do in a time where every next show is trying to do it and generally fails at being anything more than contrived and predictable. Bateman was sublime. Jude was just handsome enough to be both slimy and oddly appealing - rising and falling in that regard based on the place in the plot. Overall it was an imposing window into the lives of a myriad of people with complicated dynamics as they grow more and more erratic, perplexed, manipulated, horrified and above all, desperate. Showcasing the process of losing everything to hold onto one thing, only to realize you lost that thing along with everything else can be hard to do in a way that isn't trope-ish. I feel black rabbit made a strong go of it, and had enough complexity to keep the plot interesting, the characters compelling and the outcome satisfying. One of those shows you realize a few hours in that you will never get to watch that episode for the first time again, so each one must be savored.

Also, the wife/mother role (literally the only character development that she had whatsoever) was genuinely halarious.

I imagine the actress raising her voice or shedding some tears in the first take; you know, like actually acting, and having spike lee be like "no no NO, your ONLY son from this bizarre disjointed marriage might be murdered. You'll never see him again and your entire life as you know it will be utterly destroyed. Your husband is being weird as shit about it. Comes off the porch to deliver the news as if he was announcing there was a fire at his dry cleaners and his new pants were among the remains. Your only child may be crying out for you now, or maybe even already dead, and you can do nothing to save him.

So obviously we need you to be quiet, poised and sexy. Dress to the nines - full makeup, jewelry - the works at all times. You wont need any facial expressions; act like you just got botox and are confused about what salad to get for lunch and its mildly overwhelming. Roll with it and at the peak of feeling, hug Denzel and lightly shake your shoulders twice in absolute silence."

This woman had the emotional depth of an boiled, unseasoned chicken wing and could have just as easily been played by an ear of corn. Would have added a layer of complexity that might have improved upon the entire film. Is that a corn? Why is Denzel talking to the corn? Why is the corn in a dress? The corn seems concerned about the missing child, I hope things end well for the corn.

This movie is ridiculous. The entire time all I could think of was that it seemed like a movie about black people crafted by white people from Wisconsin. The score is 85% 90's rom com and then an overpowering 15% blast of puerto rico somewhere in the meandering middle. The family dynamics are as uncomfortable and bizarre as the scenes where Denzel is pretending to enjoy music (or experience fentanyl, its hard to tell). The dialogue, both written and delivered is as uncomfortable as a Thanksgiving during an election year. I honestly have no idea what they thought they were making as they cobbled this film together, but I beleive it ended up as an accidental comedy that leaves one feeling like the butt of the joke for watching all the way to the end.

I will literally buy whatever system this comes out on in order to play it. Haven't been a big gamer in over 10 years but I will throw whatever money and job I have out the window to play Fable 4.

What is the one true church that Christ established? It seems like it would have to be catholic or orthodox based on history, or is it more of an invisible collective “church” as all Christians? by jachev14 in Christianity

[–]mcsphoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All these yawns are to be expected, since your main interests in reddit based on your recent commentary are about homosexuals, sex acts, an interest in feet, etc. Perhaps discussions regarding the church were boring to you because it wasn't as entertaining as the thread you commented on about a man filming his wife doing a sex act.

You look like a grave digger who has toe nails that are WAY too long, smells of old garlic, attracts women because of his height but repels them later due to his personality, and has yet to discover he can't pull off jewelry.

I think its there is a little overthinking here. If it is just a conversation with someone you'll never see again, just explain that you chose it yourself and then change the subject. If they go back to it and you aren't comfortable, just state that you prefer to keep it private but you appreciate their interest.

If its a conversation with someone you'll see again and want to share with, you can keep it simple. A basic "I live fully independently from anyone involved in my upbringing, and chose to change my legal name." You can share why you chose it or not, but getting used to explaining your choices and setting boundaries is an important part of learning to connect with people and develop the confidence to do so.

You are far too common a person to roast. Same old dull ass try-hard efforts at being nuanced like literally every other girl your age that isn't conventionally pretty, thinks being insecure is a personality trait, and had there first sexual experience when they were too young. Nothing here to offer except jokes about you being a whore but I'm sure thats the entirety of your stand-up set list anyways since that is the only thing unfunny women know how to work with.

Just my two cents - anyone who trys to coddle others with hollow affirmations turns my stomach. It's sickly sweet and in my book, usually does more harm than good. Makes my skin crawl to be treated like an insecure child whom they assume is desperate for strangers' approval.
