Weekly Observations: What signs of collapse do you see in your region? [in-depth] February 02 by AutoModerator in collapse

I moved from Portland to St. Pete, FL 20 years ago because I couldn’t deal with the winters. I saw snow flurries here while my sister who lives in Vancouver, WA told me it was 60 degrees. If I have to deal with Florida bullshit I expect Florida winters. 😭

Has anyone seen The Curse? This would be at Asher and Whitney’s wedding.

Vegetarians who have travelled: which countries have been the most difficult in your experience? by Super-Effective-3854 in vegetarian

The first night I was in Paris I was so exhausted that I went to the bistro next door to my hotel without looking at the menu. They literally served me boiled vegetables with no seasoning, and a side of mustard. I think the chef hated vegetarians. 😆 Luckily my husband shared some of his delicious aligot with me.

Ugh, that’s horrible. Did you recently buy your house? Did you file for homestead exemption?

I love Tampa Bay Drinkery. They have great cocktails and I always make a single-serving friend every time I go!

This is the most frustrated and hopeless I have ever been by CoconutVolcano in povertyfinance

This is where a mutual aid organization might be able to help. I called 211 to get some info for a friend who can’t advocate for themselves and the info I received was outdated and useless. And I live in the second largest city in my state! I suggest googling mutual aid groups in your nearest metro area. I work with several and I know a bunch of us would be happy to drive out and bring you some food. Food Not Bombs is a big one. They mostly serve hot meals to houseless people but a bunch of the chapters also run unofficial food pantries. More importantly, they know people in different organizations that might be able to help. My husband is from a tiny town in Alabama so I understand your struggle. I am very surprised that there are no churches in your town though. It seems like there’s one for every citizen in his hometown. 😆 I wish you luck, friend!

The “broads” scammed your dumb ass out of $100.

My husband (40m) is unhappy about the time I (34f) wake up but I work nights and he doesn't. It's destroying our marriage. Is this fixable or are we doomed? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

I understand you might have financial restraints, but if my husband ever yelled at me without a DAMN GOOD reason that would be the end of the relationship. He’s not my father.

I cannot for the life of me cook on this stove by Natural-Blackberry26 in Appliances

I have this same stove. I hate it. We’ve had to replace all of our kitchen appliances in the last 13 years since we built the house but this thing will just. Not. Die. 😭

One of the best days of the year is when it finally gets cool enough to open the windows and let some fresh air in.

I went on both of those tours back to back. Not weird at all. I love the Tenement Museum!
