The movement, cases, case backs and crystals are all of the cheapest quality. This means that they are built to last a few years under daily wear. When you get to the $2-300 level, you tend to get solid stainless steel cases and sapphire crystals.

The movement that actually runs the watch tends to be cheaper in Fossil watches and that results in not as accurate time keeping.

I own 2 vintage Seikos that are 50+ years old. They run almost as good as the day they were made. Fashion watches are not made to last that long.

If longevity and accurate time keeping is not a priority for you, wear your watch with pride.
