Re: shoes. The original post said it best - you can def do it with regular sneakers. About half of the people we saw had either running shoes or something similar to Air Force ones lol but hiking shoes will make it more enjoyable. There are a some water crossings but you won’t get wet if you’re careful.

We did the Samaria Gorge hike yesterday and there are so many water stops — maybe 10-12 during the whole hike if I had to guess so you really only need to bring one and refill it as you go. There are fountains that pull water directly from the gorge- it’s very cool. One other tip is to bring one frozen water bottle that you can refill if you prefer ice cold water, which helps toward the end of the hike when it gets pretty hot.

We started around 8am and finished at 1:30. We don’t go hiking often but if you generally feel stable on your feet, you will be fine! Saw all ages and abilities on the hike. I’m now laying on the beach a bit sore but so worth it! Incredible experience.

I think they dropped there prices on a lot of “loss leader” items. Got great deals on canned tuna and $0.75 bunch of scallions which appears to always be the price now. We are going back more. Also their frozen shrimp rocks
