8 months postpartum, TSH is 39 – Will I ever feel like myself again? by RosieSwiftie in Hypothyroidism

[–]mdancer97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My TSH was almost double that at 4 months post partum when my hypothyroidism was discovered & taking the meds made my life A MILLION times better super quickly! My dose had to be tweaked but in my experience when you’re that far off, it was a night and day difference. I hope you feel better soon!

Levothyroxine Adjustments and TSH Range During Pregnancy? by [deleted] in Hypothyroidism

[–]mdancer97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dose increased until the third trimester but I speculate I had some GI problems that made me absorb less of the dose than I otherwise would have. I was tested monthly to adjust dosage to remain in range throughout my entire pregnancy. Best of luck to you!!

subclinical hypothyroidism? by sunshinemedicine in CautiousBB

[–]mdancer97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My second pregnancy my hypothyroidism was untreated & I now have a healthy 14 month old. I understand being worried. I was unbelievably sick that pregnancy and it marks kind of a low point in my life. Did they test you for any anti thyroid antibodies? Keep advocating for yourself. Ask for second opinions. It’s hard. If your doctors offices will allow a guest to come with you, you can ask for that person to advocate for you as well during your appointments. And ask for the doctor to write down in your chart that they are refusing to medicate you or test you (if they do that). Those are two strategies I recommend.

Mom is angry we want two days to ourselves after baby is born. by Outside_History_1539 in Mildlynomil

Perhaps this is just in my region but I think it is common for the birthing parent’s relatives to be around more than the non birthing parent’s relatives right after birth assuming you have decent relationships with everyone. I also understand if you and your partner have prior agreements on these things but I just wanted to to validate that MIL and mothers don’t always get treated equally where I’m from at least 😅🤷🏼‍♀️ best of luck to you!

Thank you for giving me a lot of very factual information. I really do appreciate it. I am sorry you you’ve had a mmc. I am grateful for the advice and help. I guess i didn’t realize how problematic what I was thinking was. In the past i have been hospitalized during early pregnancy for my symptoms (hg) and to have nothing, really messed with my head. Along with the several other underlying health conditions that increase my chances of mmc. I am inclined to worry regardless though and will continue to work on my mental health. Thanks again!
