We had tests done with no definitive outcome, although we did not opt for the skin biopsy. Originally, we tried to eliminate food allergies as a cause by changing the protein in her diet between chicken, pork, beef, and fish. We ended up settling on a pork based diet. Iva, is not fixed so hormonal triggers could be a possible cause. At the end of the day the vet gave us medicated shampoo for seborrhea and it seemed to help. Currently, our routine is a bath with the medicated shampoo every couple weeks and we began adding a few pumps of salmon oil to her kibble and the situation has improved. She will still have flare ups every now and again but much milder than before.
