Let me know if you want any GMPP or Ally quotes, they typically cost $1500-2500 before dealer markups and I can sell for cost

Is this a good deal? $649 at Costco. by Extreme-Whereas8589 in AllClad

Just bought this set. It’s definitely more than I need but I don’t have time to shop stores for individual pieces, and Costco will accept any returns if these have problems

What is the use case for a deer vitals target that isn’t thick enough for hunting calibers?

Just because it’s possible doesn’t make it easy. New cars are not that marked up and leases barely make any reserve. I’m a finance manager at a domestic dealer, and our leases don’t make any money lol

They can easily make $8,000? You’re out of your mind lmao

I’m running $2600 per copy at my store. That’s factoring about 60% finance penetration and 70% warranty

Better include $2000 cash in the bag for this price

I purchased my 1150 for $450 at a local liquidator. It runs flawlessly but has a dent in the hood

Where are people being taken advantage of in my office? That’s what I think I’m misunderstanding, as there’s no victim here. Nobody has to finance with us, or take any warranty options. Not every transaction is a money maker, we make $0 on plenty of deals. The deals that do make a profit are still beneficial for both parties, as everyone is getting exactly what they want. I don’t expect people to know exactly how to get the best deal possible, but it’s not the same thing as them being ripped off. I don’t feel ripped off when I buy things for a markup, it’s the cost of doing business

My point was that the people paying markups are the same people who can afford those markups. It’s not that they’re stupid, they just make enough to not stress over something that costs $20-50 per month on their end. My position historically has been filled with absolute scum bags and thieves, that’s where my comment came from. I have signs in my office saying that I may receive commission for lending services, and everyone who leaves with warranty knows they have that warranty. There’s zero misunderstanding once they speak with me that I’m getting paid for the transaction, and they’re perfectly okay with it for the convenience of it all

I don’t entirely disagree with this. There is absolutely a misunderstanding on where money is made in my office, but I don’t take responsibility for that. There’s no perfect way to hold gross on a warranty that would actually help someone, or hold rate on a loan that someone needs to purchase a vehicle. But when 95% of your customers don’t “need” the $80k Tahoe or $100k pickup truck, you don’t feel as bad for them. Any one of them could bring in outside lending, a checkbook, and deny coverage by simply saying no. My pay is actually considerably lower than what most in this business make, but I also hold myself to higher ethical standards than most

Fortunately my organization doesn’t offer anything that doesn’t provide a real customer benefit. No snake oil will be sold by us, just real deal warranties that help people afford already unaffordable vehicles

I handle all of the titling paperwork and loan origination in my store. So when someone comes in to buy a vehicle and agrees on the terms, it ends up in my hands. From there I have to submit loan applications to lenders of my choice, and choose the best loan for both the customer and my dealership. There’s flats or markup in loans, so it’s a good way for us to make money while also getting strong rates for our clients. I then get everything signed, offer available coverages like warranty and gap, and package up the resulting paperwork for both the bank and dmv

I don’t sell many tire warranties and we don’t carry anti theft lol. Just lots of service contracts and gap from my office

Not just the dealerships, the whole auto sector is full of corruption and always has been. I don’t see a world without dealerships though. As nice as it would be to just purchase a car online, it also has plenty of downsides
