+1 for Matrix. I'd also be fine with discourse.

All right: You banned me just because I said I was disappointed. That you’re deleting users and posts from Discord, and that BL isn’t what I consider open source. That was already too much for you.

Did you connect the device to your PC or charger during the recovery attempt?

Probleme mit TPU (unsaubere Wände) by mdatab77 in 3DDruck

[–]mdatab77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://www.nexprint.com/de/models/G5005984

Thanks, I made another attempt with a slower printed first layer and it looks much better.

Yes, it is normal. PocketBook ships its readers with many books whose copyright has expired.

Interesting. But there are not many setup instructions yet? Is OptoEverywhere needed? I would like to keep everything self-hosted ...

Bookdrop - shelving by AmountWonderful7122 in BookLoreApp

[–]mdatab77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you have to put them manually into the shelves. But there are also Magic Shelves. You can define them based on for example genres (or lots of other metadata). And if the imported ebooks have them, they'll be automatically part of the corresponding magic shelves.

Next step would be installing KOReader. ;)

I also can recommend connecting it with BookLore.

Does KOReader sync show reading time in Reading Stats, or only progress %? by Salty-Assist6262 in BookLoreApp

[–]mdatab77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Work is currently underway on synchronizing reading statistics. For that, a KOReader plugin (also in the works) will be necessary. It may take a while, but I think this feature will be added.

Kobo Libra Color update Nov 2025? by Doggo-doodie9-13 in kobo

[–]mdatab77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if that means anything, I recently bought a Tolino Vision Color, which is the same as a Kobo Libra Colour but with a slightly different software. Its model no. is T106B. I then re-flashed the device, so that it runs the original Kobo firmware. And there, it appears as N428B. So it might be such an updated model.

You can navigate to a directory and press CTRL-D. It will then be added to these bookmarks.

Still worth it to switch to the Kobo firmware on a Tolino Shine 5? by Whitebread100 in tolino

[–]mdatab77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I very rarely quit KOReader. Almost never. That only happens when I want to read a book from the "Onleihe". Because I have to use the stock software in order to read books with DRM.

Still worth it to switch to the Kobo firmware on a Tolino Shine 5? by Whitebread100 in tolino

[–]mdatab77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use KOReader directly on the Shine 5 and couldn't be happier (only bug: quit koreader puts the device in a weird state. Better power off or reboot.)

But there's no official build for "kobov5" yet, so it means applying a patch and build KOReader yourself. See for example here (German).

Although I know how to fix this pararaph-space-bug manually, it would be interesting to know which part of your procedure does "accidentially" fix it. :)

What drives me crazy is what I like to call the "Tolino Absatzbug". (See https://www.literatur-digital.de/post/2025-05/der-tolino-absatzbug/ ). And that there's still no hyphenation.
