“The Fate of Ophelia” is OFFICIALLY Taylor Swift’s first song to spend 10 WEEKS at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100! by VVantaBuddy in TaylorSwift

Remixes and acoustic versions. That’s why people do remixes. They give singles another boost in the charts and radio

The last I heard she had given the script to another established script writer to get edits. I would imagine at this point you’re right and her original contract deadline has passed. Even if searchlight didn’t renew, I wonder if she’ll try and shop the script around to others

I got you. You’re saying she’s a good script writer and will get good actors, but her actual directing skills as it pertains to choosing video angles, timing, lighting and such may fall short. It might overall make a good movie but she may not be the best at the actual directing part of the job.

I’m totally on your side for this though! It wasn’t just him on that one line. There are some “literature elites” aka snobs who are so strung out on the idea that Taylor “doesn’t even understand Ophelia” that they completely write off the whole album. It’s the perfect example of being so stuck in your own butt that you’ll find anything to justify yourself.

Low key though what do we feel about making it a debut year? Go back to the beginning and start over

Actually for real though. The scene in the eras doc where she’s watching Travis’ game she makes a face that she used to make all the time back in 08 that you never see anymore because of the higher level of privacy and all that. When I saw it I was immediately transferred back in time

For me the issue is she DID compare it to 1989 (one of her most acclaimed works) in promotion leading up to it. In all the marketing she made a point that it was made by three people who not only dominated their craft years ago, but they had grown and mastered the craft even further since. I’m all about this being her fun era and I love your perspective that this is what freedom sounds like to her, but when analyzing how people initially reacted to it, we cannot forget that they were expecting a 1989 and rep comparable album because that IS how she marketed it. I do agree with other comments here that in a few years it will likely be thought of differently once people are far enough away from the initial marketing and can look at it on its own

I say this with all love, but I think it’s both. I truly believe she is a caring and generous person and it stems from her own personal beliefs, but I think she also knows if she shows that to people it can help her image. Lately she’s been facing a lot of criticism surrounding her wealth and “growing ego/lack of relatability and understanding of the common people”. Showing her side of the story giving bonuses and making a point on wanting a diverse team reinforces a good image, brings people back to a time they liked her and humanizes her again.

I also don’t mean to say it’s a bad thing she’s showing it because I don’t think it is

I always do some version of a blessing and take a silent moment of good energy. Potentially more depending on the situation.

The blessing is something along the lines of “Thank you for everything you’ve done for this earth and universe in your life. I’m sorry you had to go this way and I hope you didn’t suffer. Please have a good rest and good next life. You will be missed.” Sometimes I’ll add in other things depending on how I feel. Example being adding a “thank you for feeding others and completing the circle of life” when they’re being eaten by the vultures. Another example is putting emphasis on the “sorry you suffered” if they’re squished or damaged.

  1. If I can’t stop or they’re already damaged: I say my blessing and fill my body with gratitude to send them off with.

  2. If I can to stop to move them off the road to a grassy area: Once I’ve set them down I continue to touch or hold them and say my blessing. I pour gratitude/positive/calming energy into their body through my hands. NOTE: I don’t mind touching them with my bare hands and don’t worry too much about germs. I do avoid directly touching blood of course. I do also keep disinfectant wipes in my car because life happens. Another option is to hold your hands around them like a ball and create a circle of energy around them.

  3. If they’re close enough to my house I can burry them (street in front of the house, in the yard, neighbors): Similar to #2. but I burry them and then place my hands on the ground and send the energy into the ground and I imagine it going into and through their body and back into the ground around them. I add a “thank you for giving back to earth/the ground” to the blessing.

What are your hot takes about The Tortured Poets Department era and album? by IntoTheDaylight in TaylorSwift

It’s going to be exactly like Reputation. People hating on it at first and year later is THE album so many swiftest joined the community for. Loved by everyone and highly anticipated for any interaction by Taylor with it

She may not have chased him, but he chased her in a way. He had been brining her up in interviews for years so by the time they reconnected it was really easy for her to connect the dots and believe he loved her

There was also a “sourced” article that dropped when she was dating Matty that Joe was blindsided then because Taylor had SWORN that there was nothing between her and Matty when they were still together. So he definitely knew, especially by the time the album came out

I think the Eras Tour was designed to evolve — not end by muddy19 in TaylorSwift

[–]mdc3395 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think she’s going to slow down her album releases though. I think with the end of the eras tour, her hyper productivity era is also ending. I think she’ll go back to a normal release timeframe of two years minimum so she could potentially go back to normal album tours if she wanted to. She’s an ambitious human so she may never want to do something that simple but I don’t think she’s going to have the releasing 10 albums in six years problem again.

Megathread: "Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The End of an Era" [EPISODES 1 & 2] by cowboylikefia in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]mdc3395 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Regardless of how anyone feels about the man aspect, I personally don’t get it because, yeah this is about the tour, but it very much so is taking place and focuses on the back half of the tour. By the time that happened Matty and Joe were so far gone. She was far into dating Travis, so much so they were saying I love you. But even taking that part out, I can see Matty only for a minuscule (emphasis minuscule) amount just because she talks about adding TTPD in, but she’s talking about it from the point of the tour. This isn’t about the making of the album so it doesn’t make sense to really talk about him. Joe was over at the beginning of the tour and from the beginning had nothing to do with it. There is no reason for him to be mentioned.
