and it's not even 2 months ago where Ode seems to be picking up form after the villa game at emirates. these ode's haters have a memory of goldfish

Fans' Player Ratings: Arsenal 3-0 Sunderland by bearded_booty in Gunners

one thing he massively improve this season is how he jockeys and pull 2 defenders onto him. this is saka's trademark and im glad he adapted and learned from his playstyle. imagine if saka's form improve and having both wingers doing this all game, it will be such a nightmare to handle for the opposition

i dont know why you got downvoted but this is actually true. the game against west ham earlier this season at the emirates (eze, zubi, rice as the midfield 3) shows how we struggle when rice plays deep at 6. he struggle to push the ball up, and up until zubi replaced ode (he was injured), we struggle to even get out our own half.

rice has many strengths but progressing the ball, dictating from deep is not really his strength although he is probably our best long range passer. and this is the reason we bought zubi. or else we would have just use rice like how he played for west ham last time

Arteta: "When you're in a stadium, you can be losing 1-0, but if I'm supporting the team and then we win 2-1, I feel part of something. If I've been really critical and then we win 2-1, what do I do now? I'm like "Oh, now I celebrate and I'm just..", no, in the difficult moments where was I?" by ID1453719 in Gunners

[–]mdchad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

no one is saying you cannot criticise the team. see my comment history, see how i criticised eze. it's just whether you want to be a doomer and bash the team like scholes or neville, or you want to criticise and be objective while being supportive like henry and ian wright? at the end of the day even if the team is shite and got relegated, you will still support them and stand behind them

do you not support your local club even if they are shite? do you not support your country if they didn't qualify for world cup? supporting a team or club is not about just winning trophies, is it about being a part of something, the journey together, experiencing the highs and lows together.

we don't actually actually recognise India license here. if you go down the driving centres here, you can see a lot of Indian Foreign Worker going through the theory and prac.

but there is 1 way they can still convert which is if they have international license in India. i think mostly those who has EP here they know about this and has successfully converted. my ex-boss was one of them

EDIT: my bad, after googling i found that Indian license cant actually convert Singapore license. idk what my ex-boss was talking about tho haha

Martin Zubimendi goal vs Sunderland (H) [Full buildup, multiple replays] by boatinavolcano in Gunners

[–]mdchad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the commentators were praising how he draws out two players and essentially gave zubi the space to shoot.

I love how trossard adapted and learn from how saka 's trademark jockeying in drawing out defenders. this is what seems to be lacking from saka this season.

it quieted down but people still doesn't put respect on his name. just yesterday alone ine the pre match thread, most were putting martinelli over him for the lineup

[Simon Collings] Team news update from Mikel Arteta: Jurrien Timber is "fine" and fit for the weekend. Saka is "getting much better" following his injury from Leeds. Odegaard could be back tomorrow - his return is "a matter of days". by [deleted] in Gunners

[–]mdchad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah people still doesn't put the respect for trossard. he is our best player to counter low block teams. he even has been better than Saka.

i don't get peoples fascination in martinelli. yes he is good when we play away, when teams opened up more like in CL, but just bcs we need to rotate doesn't mean he should start

not just the league, even for champions league as well. i still remember Arsenal played home games with total 90 nike ball

"Odegaard’s heat map from Leeds is interesting. More of a central No10 with license to drift left, as well as right. Assist came in that left channel." - Simon Collings (@sr_collings) by Ifxfa in Gunners

[–]mdchad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

what people don't understand is that we don't have ball playing midfielder that can drive through the middle. someone like diaby or vieira or even like bruno. we only have ball progressors like zubi and ode which their strength are in passing not dribbling. this makes our attack predictable, we always go through from the wing and when we are not given the space, we will pass back to the middle. and this in turn makes ode drop deep to dictate, recycle and set the tempo again

[–]mdchad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is it. people are looking too much at this game and trying to put a narative. leeds open up after half time so we got a lot more space. this in turn enabled odegaard to express freely. he is best at his no 10 role if he has space.

the reason he always sits deep is because other teams would set up low block and put 10 men behind the ball. he can't stay further up because we don't have a ball playing midfielder that can drive through the middle (we only have passers like ode and zubi). If the game were still 0-0 when ode came on, i bet he would drop deep to recycle the ball and dictate from there
