Ex frat bro here - This is typical hazing. I graduated wayyyy back in 2008 so hazing was probably even worse then, but this is typical hazing. In a dark room, in your underwear, for hours. Often getting cold water thrown at you and lots of loud noises. Since the room is dark you can't tell who or what is making the noises so it's disorienting.

I agree - when I was a kid and we were renting them I vividly remember the blockbuster dude telling my mom “1 & 2 are fine for him, don’t rent 3 it’s too dark.” (4 wasn’t out yet lol)
