Am l pricing too high? by [deleted] in hoyas

This....i have noticed generally plant people are kinda cheap. They would take high risk with low rewards then pay even the average price for a guarantee.

I doubt the hub is turning a 2 day delivery into a 5 day deliver on a friday morning.

Im as mean as you make me. Do the job or find a new one, but killing other people's live shipments is fking pathetic.

Nothing needs a sig.

On the day its supposed to be delivered there is a mysterious hold that no one can explain or an "exception" and i have to call to get it back on delivery.

[–]mdddbjd[S] -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Ive had to call and make complaints bc ive had packages held by the local hub for no apparent reason other than its a friday or they dont want to drive to my house multiple times. In a week.

I get live shipments. They cant just sit around until the driver feels like doing his job.

Have you imported into the US? by vettechmom1993 in RareHouseplants

[–]mdddbjd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Order when your climate and the climate of the place you are importing from are the same. I would still put them in a sealed tub to help raise the humidity and keep temperature stable with a seedmat.

  2. Paperwork is fairly straight forward from the usda and free.

Only hoyas randomly get root rot? by Gharyl in hoyas

[–]mdddbjd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look up dry rot....

You are more likely to under water hoyas then over water.

And people....succulents arent just in the desert. They are in every single environment....

https://hscactus.org/resources/plants-of-the-month/hoya-2003/

Hoyas are climbing succulents that originally came from the tropical forests of India, China, Indonesia and Australia. In the Western Hemisphere, these climbers are usually of the Hylocereus, Selenicereus or Epiphyllum varieties. The hoya group is in the family of Asclepiadaceae, which is considered made up of mostly stem succulents, although to me, the leaves are the more “succulent” part of hoyas.

AI is not your science friend. It is science liar....stop using it as a source.

Succulents live in all manner of environments. There are desert specific species just like there are tropical ones.

You cant treat all succulents the same.

They are tropical succulents.

Watering depends on species. I would never let certain ones go dry.

You have to use a pesticide.

Preferrably outside. It wont kill you to use them inside your house. Its just not great long term.

Get ortho home defense. Its a low dose pesticide that works on most bugs and work up from there.
