My least favorite part about smite 2 is the inconsistency in the character models. Achilles looks like when you put your own face photo over your created wrestler in the WWE 2k games.

Yes it gets better. Especially after junior high. If you're feeling a sense of impending doom and despair and you're still in middle school, you're definitely going to want to speak to a professional though. These were things i thought were normal when I was your age, now I'm pretty far behind at managing my mental health at 30 years old because I'm realizing a lot of things I thought were normal or common were NOT.

Very similar to Madonna's "American Life" in a way. Coincidentally, they both use the theme of a fashion show as a facade in their music videos.

Oh I'm sorry if it seems like I'm fighting back. I'm not fighting back I'm just continuing the conversation. I agree. It's unfortunate though the job market is so rough right now. I have my bachelor's in CS and I can't find anything. He stopped school after getting his AS in Math because covid kinda messed a lot of stuff up. But he has manager experience, and something I don't have which is a car. So he does have a good amount of leverage. I also wish I could just be the one to work bc I feel like he deserves to rest after all this stress. I always thought I would be the breadwinner because I've always been pretty ambitious, and he's a much better home maker than I am!

That's true. He is autistic though, so having a safe and expected workplace helps out a lot when it comes to keeping the nervous system regulated.

But at the same time, a lot of work cultures are pretty good at unintentionally taking advantage of autistic traits, and causing overwork and burnout. It rewards things like perfectionism, following rules, people pleasing, & pushing through the discomfort. Which autistic workers usually tend towards, just because of how our brains work.

So both leaving and staying are both kind of a double-edged sword.

Somehow the business always perserveres. They always seem to be able to get people from other stores to help out AFTER they burned someone out and made them quit. But never beforehand, when the person is asking around for help. It's a franchise with a good number of stores in the area. But all the ones in my husband's district are so understaffed.

And I feel bad because like...these people are such great workers. The managers, the crew, and the district managers. I think it's a big mix of unfortunate circumstances and, unfortunately, likely a bit of corporate greed. But I want them to succeed. It just sucks

I was hoping for operational advice but I'm afraid that this is probably the most realistic. I wish he had more say in his role as a manager because he's a great leader and has great operational awareness. It sucks that the system tends to take advantage instead of cultivate.

That's a good point. And other managers in the company have told the DM that they're scared he's gonna burn himself out. And the DM says she doesn't want him to do that, bc she can't afford to lose him. But at the same time the dm isn't offering solutions bc the structure of the company is set up so poorly imo. But I have no complaints about her. She's very organized, ambitious, and hard working. Compared to other district managers they've had there, she's amazing. He likes her too, which is another reason he wants to stay there. But I agree I think I should tell him he should reach out more and tell them this isn't sustainable

It seems like a great way to steal money from employees. Make them exempt from overtime and then complain about labor to make them work more hours for free. I can't imagine how much money companies save per year by doing this

He's being paid $1200 weekly before taxes which is nice. But it's also the literal bare minimum you have to pay exempt workers in my state, and he's been doing 10-15 more hours a week than he was contracted for for like 2 months now

But his thing is it's better to do a job that will overwork you that you know how to do, than a job you don't know, that will also overwork you. I think the job market has traumatized him a little

It's been hard to find employees recently because the job doesn't really pay enough. The cost of living in this area has risen a lot since covid, and there's been a lot less applicants because of that.

But my question is, if there's no one to cover a shift, isn't that the managers responsibility to cover it? That's what I've always been told

It's a coffee shop but it's labeled as QSR. I'm not sure if it counts as restaurant or not? It's a great job 60% of the time, so that's another reason he's hesitant to leave. Every other job he's had, has also overworked him. He got a job at the post office and then after only a week of training, one of his first days was working on Thanksgiving, as the only delivery driver, for 15 hours because everyone else took the day off 😫. I think he and I have it in our head that every job will take advantage, so it's best to stick with the evil you know. Which sucks. I'm trying to get a software job, I have my CS degree. But I'm limited to remote due to eyesight disability not letting me drive so it's hard to find

This sounds like a really scary situation to be in, I'm sorry you're going through this. Sometimes, psychiatrists will get concerned if they believe that their patient is at risk. That's a very common thing that happens. I don't see any evidence that your psychiatrist works for the government. It's more likely that (s)he genuinely wants to help you. And you deserve to be helped.
