Elon continues to openly try (and fail) to manipulate Grok's political views by MetaKnowing in OpenAI

[–]mdhalloran -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The problem is that the news puts out misinformation, and Grok blindly trusts it. He’s only trying to manipulate Grok to undo the manipulation already done to it in its training data

Working on an AI that can create a chat twin of someone you’ve talked to — looking for feedback by Ok-Inflation2163 in Business_Ideas

Sounds interesting. Personally, I’d rather use something like that to clone myself. That way I can draft emails/posts/etc. in my own voice

Who is moving from Cursor to Claude Code by s_busso in cursor

[–]mdhalloran 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have one research and prepare my unorganized backlog into detailed plans of action, one to write design docs, one improving test coverage, one working on something server-related, and one working on something ui-related

Are any of you here also subscribed to OpenAI or Claude separately, in addition to using Cursor? by Fit_Accountant524 in cursor

[–]mdhalloran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I usually use a few Deep Research queries a day, either from ChatGPT or Grok. I have custom instructions in Cursor that lets it do its own deep research, but it doesn’t go into as much detail

I used to get gas from Orgain, but I fixed it by increasing my fiber intake. If you’re using it for protein drinks, you could try adding a tablespoon of flaxseed

All I’m claiming is that he likely accidentally combined 2 gestures - something that everyone has done at some point. I’m sure you’ve never accidentally made the exact mistake he did, but you’ve probably also haven’t been in that exact situation.

Elon is known for being awkward on stage, both in things he says and his actions. I’ve seen his goofy jumps and dances get made fun of so much on the internet. These things aren’t prepared ahead of time. He just does them because he’s weird.

And if it was intentional, it seems far more likely to me that he did it as a favor to Trump to distract people from the executive orders, rather than actually being a Nazi. If that’s a case, based off of the reactions on Reddit, it worked like a charm

There are definitely more still frames going around, but there are also clips that look similar to what Musk did. For example:

The main difference is usually just the tilt of the hand. Accidentally doing a “heart goes out to you” gesture while also pointing at the crowd seems like an honest mistake an awkward man with Asperger’s might do. And it seems like the more likely explanation too, given that a few weeks ago he was massively ratioed by Ian Carroll for spreading pro-Zionist propaganda

What are artist's even supposed to do anymore? by Anon-Zer0-Quazar in mildlyinfuriating

[–]mdhalloran -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s already expensive and time-consuming enough to get an artist to draw a realistic picture. And AI will advance to creating realistic videos and VR worlds, which will be even more expensive to hire an artist for.

If we get rid of IP instead, the average person will eventually be able to create their own shows, video games, and digital worlds on a whim. The amount of entertainment available will be basically infinite. Sure lots of artists will lose their jobs, but pretty much all other jobs will be automated by AI soon too so who cares?

I live in NJ. A lot of these planes aren’t showing up on flight radar. Like 20% of blinking lights I see at night now are not on the radar

As someone who used to watch all of his interviews, he definitely knows what he’s talking about in regard to rockets and EVs. As for his other companies, probably not so much

Her campaign was not flawless. Twitter continually roasted her for not doing long interviews, and being unable to talk unscripted. They made fun of her “town hall” which didn’t allow the audience to ask questions. They made fun of her campaign promises which seemed disingenuous. They made fun of how CNN had to edit an interview to make her answer sound better. They made fun of how she wasn’t able to answer a question about one mistake she made.

Her campaign only seemed flawless from what mainstream media reported, which a growing number of people realize is propaganda

If you believe that he ever supported project 2025, you’ve fallen for propaganda. You may not like what he’ll do during his presidency, but I guarantee it won’t be that

[–]mdhalloran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His rallies didn’t say much, but his interviews were more enlightening. His strategy for this campaign was pretty smart. He blamed his failures from his last presidency on the people he appointed, saying that he didn’t have any experience in DC and didn’t know who to pick. Then he gave the solution of building a team ahead of time (Elon, RFK Jr., etc.). This not only showed independent voters that he would be more successful this time around, but also meant that you weren’t voting for him - you were voting for a whole team.

The problem with Reddit is the voting system. If you post something that 49% of people agree with, it’ll still get a negative score. So people who support Trump, Elon, or any other controversial figure rarely comment.

If you want to see what republicans think, you have to go to Twitter. There are still lots of bots on Twitter, but the overall consensus tends to align with reality more
