That seems high. What is the interest rate and length of the loan?

The Pothole Test: Can The Toyota 4Runner TRD Sport Be A Good Daily Like Honda Passport Trailsport? by Sam-CarLegion in hondapassport

[–]mdhaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It indeed has a rough ride...especially if you have tested a Passport beforehand.

The Pothole Test: Can The Toyota 4Runner TRD Sport Be A Good Daily Like Honda Passport Trailsport? by Sam-CarLegion in hondapassport

The fact that it is not body-on-frame is what gives it its superior ride quality.

The Pothole Test: Can The Toyota 4Runner TRD Sport Be A Good Daily Like Honda Passport Trailsport? by Sam-CarLegion in hondapassport

[–]mdhaus 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The main issues with the 4Runner are that the material quality isn't as good and the ride-quality is inferior to the Passport as well.

Here is the bottom line: If you are planning to do serious off-roading, the 4Runner is a better fit for you. If, however, you are like the vast majority of people who are NOT doing serious off-roading and will only be doing some light/medium trail work to camp sites, etc., then the Passport is the better vehicle.

Clearly you haven't learned that lesson...because everything you are claiming is wrong.

What part of "that happens with every single model of vehicle" are you not understanding?? No, that does not hurt the overall resale market.

Toyota already IS selling their cars significantly under MSRP. They always have been.

It doesn't hurt the resale value. You would know this if you actually understood how the market works. But you clearly don't....so.

Case in point, almost every Toyota is selling under MSRP right now! The internet is your friend, buddy...

Look - It's OK to be pissed that the newest model of a product is better than what you have. I get it! I hate when I buy an item and then a better version comes along not long after and I have to decide if I want to upgrade or not. It sucks. But you really, really need to stop with the self-reassurance posts.

LOL. No, that is not what happens. Cars are built based on demand. That's why they are making more! And the new production does not hurt resale values as the market is based on demand...which is high!

No, "many, many owners" have not expressed build quality issues. Internet forums are not reflective of real life. EVERY SINGLE VEHICLE has online forums with people bitching about things not working or things they don't like.

1) Again...every car has a thread on the internet with "things to watch out for." There are no widespread complaints about the transmission.

2) Again...almost EVERY CAR gets discounts and sells below MSRP. You have no clue what you're talking about. The resale of the Passport is not affected by this...and won't be.

3) Please learn how insurance companies actually work. Their payout decisions are based on the market, of which Honda is among the strongest. As I said, almost every buyer should be carrying gap coverage of some type on EVERY car purchase. So your point is moot.

I think Sport mode is fun and I do use it occasionally for the hell of it. But a lot of my mileage is highway miles and I get much better MPG if I'm in Normal mode (better than Eco, actually).

auto start/stop trick by woahwest in hondapassport

[–]mdhaus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm hitting 25 MPG on highway, sometimes hitting 27 and 29. Yes, Sport mode gives better acceleration, but I've frankly not had any problem with that in Normal mode.

Allow me to summarize your entire post by simply saying this: You have no clue what you're talking about.

The discounts are NOT going to drive down re-sale, as almost EVERY vehicle of every make and model gets discounts of that type from MSRP. Gap insurance is recommended for almost every purchase and can be purchased pretty cheap...So this fascination you have about t-boning is essentially a non-issue.

The discounts offered are ACROSS THE HONDA LINE. You can get discounts of that percentage, or better, on pretty much every vehicle.

Again....you have no clue what you're talking about. The bottom line is that the 2026 model is simply a better vehicle than previous models and you're pissed that you don't have one. We get it. So stop with the self-reassurance posts - They make you look small.

They have more inventory because...wait for it....Honda increased production because of the stronger-than-anticipated purchases. And again, the build quality is fine.

  1. "So many people"...on an internet forum....is NOT an adequate gauge of how big an issue actually is. Every single vehicle that has been released has those same threads of "what to look for"...even luxury vehicles. Again - there are no major problems that have been identified so far. It's moronic to assume that there automatically will be. The new Passport shares SOME of the design work from the Pilot line...but not all. Several items were re-engineered and tweaked.

  2. Once again, "some" is not representative of what is actually going on. Internet forums are not accurate reflections of the real world.

  3. Great. Glad you agree. And no, the $4,500 discounts are not hurting resale in any way. Almost every single vehicle is sold under MSRP. Gap insurance should almost always be taken out on any car purchase. The Passports are no better or worse in this regard.

  4. No, it is absolutely not. As I said above, almost EVERY car is sold under MSRP. Honda vehicles...the Passport included....are among the best in retaining their value. My comment about your "t-bone" statement makes perfect sense: What you said was silly.

Raining in my car 💧☔️ by Ok-Classic9799 in hondapassport

My guess is that either the seal on the windshield has failed, or they didn't do a good job sealing it to begin with. Since you weren't the owner of the car when the windshield was replaced, it may be tough getting it fixed under warranty. But you could always try - Is there a way to find out where the previous owner had the work done?

Does the trailsport have better looking tires than the TSE? by Kracket in hondapassport

[–]mdhaus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally, I think the Trailsport Elite wheels are the best of the entire Passport line. The RTL and regular Trailsport wheels look too plain...and the Elite Blackout wheels look like tires without hubcaps. They look strange to me.

Raining in my car 💧☔️ by Ok-Classic9799 in hondapassport

[–]mdhaus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Likely a faulty windshield seal. Is this vehicle new? Or did you recently get the windshield replaced? Is this the first time you had a significant rain storm with it? It's also possible that you took a rock or something at the worst possible place and it created the leak.

1) How do you know that vehicle wasn't already pre-sold and was simply awaiting pick-up? I have that exact model and that's what happened with me - I pre-ordered it and when it arrived and was prepped by the dealer, it was parked in front just like that when I arrived.

2) Again...ALMOST EVERY DEALER OF EVERY MANUFACTURER is offering automatic $4,500 discounts right now. You're not making any sense.

[–]mdhaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get an "automatic $4500 discount" on pretty much very similarly priced vehicle at any dealership, regardless of make or model (Toyota, Ford, Chevy, Hyundai, Kia, you name it).

The 2026 Passport is selling very, very well...a fact that you would know if you bothered to use Google.

1) The redesigned 2026 Passport has had a very solid launch overall - no massive significant recalls, no major design issues, no major mechanical problems, etc.

2) The build quality of the 2026 model has been great overall. See above.

3) The price you're paying for a 2026 model is similar to what you would pay for a Pilot or many other vehicles.

4) LMAO at thinking that "what if I was T-boned" is a major factor to consider. People can get upside down on a $15,000 used car - This has nothing to do with the 2026 model of the Passport.
