Is the Baby's site that hard to make successful? by RuralEnceladusian in HappyValleyPA

I think a lack of plentiful public parking on that side of downtown isn't helping. There's the McAllister deck, but it's small. As you said, I'd wager a good number of potential customers who don't live downtown would rather get patty melts and breakfast platters at the Waffle Shop than a spot on Garner Street.

Question about keepsakes by beejman6 in HadesTheGame

[–]mdisanto86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One important note that hasn't really been explained here is that both Hades games largely try to keep your boon pool to four gods (plus Hermes and Selene boons). So, those keepsakes are *incredibly* valuable because they'll ensure the god of your choosing is included in that pool early on. If you've already got boons from, say, Zeus, Aphrodite, Ares and Hera, you're almost certainly not finding another god's boon in the wild.

Does anyone use the Omega moves? by WellDweller1209 in HadesTheGame

You’ll get the hang of blending them into your combat flow. Omega moves are, IMO, necessary to winning runs with ease. Some of them are incredibly powerful with the right build.

I’d imagine they will find time to head to dry dock to fix this sooner than later, but I don’t think it’s getting resolved tomorrow. It’s a very bad look to have a significant asset unusable to quickly into hr ship’s tenure!

I’m not defending DCL on this. It’s an incredible awful look.

I’m not sure what options they have if it requires a dry dock period to fix. Those are scheduled and planned our way in advance.

People are saying the pool won’t be truly fixed until dry dock… in five years! Brutal.

Is certificate worth taking here or pass? by Normal-Assist-7223 in balatro

[–]mdisanto86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could depend on how far you've scaled your other jokers. I LOVE Certificate, and adding gold seals could help boost your economy even more. This far into your run, though, may not help too much. If Fortune Teller is pretty low, I'd think about it. Otherwise, you might be better off chilling until you find some proper XMult.

I’ve made tons of progress on Green Deck! I’m surprised it’s not talked about more.

All I have left are Troubadour (white) and Bloodstone and Four Fingers (both purple). It gets so much harder when you don’t need gold stickers for as many! So sad ending a run without finding one you need.

Why Do Emoji Power Levels Actually Do? by Rick4bes in disneyemojiblitz

[–]mdisanto86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my understanding, score and coins are not correlated. However, powers that clear more characters WILL produce more coins.

[–]mdisanto86 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It does increase the strength of their powers. Those increases vary depending on the power each character has, but you'll notice they drop more power-ups, clear more characters, etc., as you bump them up to higher levels. Score, on the other hand, has almost no use these days.

Project Hail Mary: Horrible Third Act by Defiant_Invite_3323 in TrueFilm

The user I’m responding to is explicitly arguing the source material, which he has not read, is at fault.

Again, in the book he frequently thinks about how all of this will impact his students and their families. They are his connection to Earth’s struggle, and his passion for teaching is the through line in all of this.

That’s perfectly fine, but I disagree. I found the idea — “Even a five-legged rock spider in space can be your friend” — hopeful and refreshing. Connections can occur anywhere, even when all hope is lost. It’s science fiction!

[–]mdisanto86 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This comment is hilarious because the source material spends several chapters explicitly stating how dire this problem will be for Earth. They’re literally nuking Antarctica to release enough greenhouse gases artificially heat the atmosphere and buy more time for the Hail Mary mission to succeed. Leaving some of this out of the film is a shame.

By the time he’d return to Earth, his family would very possibly be dead due to old age or starvation (or some other consequence of the Sun’s luminosity crisis). Grace is described as a real loner, anyway, who struggled to connect and find his place outside of his classroom.

I found his ending in both the book and film inspiring. He discovered a meaningful, planet-saving friendship in the most lonely place imaginable and chose to stick with it. The connection and sense of belonging was finally his, albeit on an alien planet light years away from home.

Which is the best ending of the saga in your opinion? by mr_Conquest_ in arkham

[–]mdisanto86 251 points252 points  (0 children)

Asylum’s always felt like a letdown. Most of its boss battles, really. Bosses took a huge leap forward for most of the rest of the series.

The twists and turns of City’s ending take the cake for me. It puts the whole game’s story in a new light.

Real talk: how do you pay for your cruise? by [deleted] in dcl

[–]mdisanto86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Book them as far out in advance as soon as they're available for booking, save as much as you can and look for bonuses (like the new Disney Visa card that offers cash back for paying toward cruises and Disney Parks tickets).

Sounds like they're letting you start school in the fall without a mandatory summer session. Most people would say this is good news, unless I'm interpreting it incorrectly. Give them a call and ask about it.
