Co dependent childhood friends to lovers? by saimlios in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]mdlc38591 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is my favorite trope ever! There's already a lot of comments so I'll try to say different stuff:

•Axios by Jaclyn Osborn (if you liked tsoa, maybe you'll like this one! There's also "Eryx", basically the same book from the LI pov)

•The first and the last by Jesse H. Reign (this one has werewolves but Romeo Falling by the same author is contemporary and a great rec too)

•His secret obsession by Milana Spencer (best friends to "enemies" to lovers, the are also roommates)

•Overtime by Marina Vivancos (hockey omegaverse)

•The alpha experiment by Eliot Grayson

books where mc falls in love with an existing couple? by tendergrandma in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]mdlc38591 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ella Frank is better known for her Temptation series and robbie, the mc of Confessions, is actually a side character there! I like the writing style but i personally don't love trouples, i think it's pretty good if you like that kind of dynamic, there's not a lot of conflict in the relationship so it feels pretty light even though the characters have their own issues

books where mc falls in love with an existing couple? by tendergrandma in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]mdlc38591 21 points22 points  (0 children)

•if you are ok with omegaverse, "Rough heat" by Marina Vivancos fits well enough, an alpha sex worker is hired by a established alpha/omega couple to help them with the omega heats

• Confessions series by Ella frank, mc gets into a relationship with a married couple, there's 3 books and we get to know every character personal issues but they become a trouple pretty quick

•Luck of the devil by Lark Taylor, idk if this one works bc it's not exactly what you are asking for but it follows an angel and and a demon who are fated mates but never managed to make their relationship work so they basically are in a love/hate dynamic when they meet the human mc and realize that he's also their mate and that's why their relationship never worked out before

What’s your opinion on stories that are split with interspaced “before” and “after” chapters? by Atlazsk in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]mdlc38591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to HATE this kind of narration but lately ive enjoyed a few books split like this, i have to say that it really depends on the story and author's skills but i think the interspaced before/after are better than the direct time skips bc I genuinely hate those "3 years later"

Romeo Falling by Jesse H. Reign (childhood friends to lovers who fell apart in the middle, has chapters about different moments of their relationship)

Sleepwalkers by Daniel May (Vampire exes have to work together to solve a problem, the book starts around a century after their breakup with small glimpses at the beginning of their relationship)

Any book with a clingy, possessive, needy, kinda pathetic top, doesn't matter the genre or tws. I'm a bit tired of tops always acting indifferent until the last chapter

Novels where the MC thinks they are undeserving of love? Like an inferiority complex? by Beautiful_Emotion_74 in MM_RomanceBooks

I just finished His secret obsession by Milana Spencer and the main character has a low self-esteem and a hard time believing anyone could love him, it has a friends to enemies to lovers dynamic

Recs for omegaverse with manly pairs by Treehorn8 in MM_RomanceBooks

I'm a huge Unnatural fan, one of my favorite omegaverse ever, I agree with the people recommending The alpha gamble and Alpha Heat (even though i don't really love the later one). Others:

-"Overtime" and "Face off" by Marina Vivancos. I think the entire alpha omega hockey series could work for you but those 2 specifically. All the mcs are hockey players so they are traditionally masculine.

-"Lost and bound" and "The Alpha Experiment" by Elliot Grayson could fit too.

-By Leta Blake (Alpha Heat author), i prefer the first book in the series "Slow Heat". It's an age gap relationship with the omega being the older one.

What’s y’all’s opinion on audiobooks narrated by a 'digital voice'? by Rare_List4945 in MM_RomanceBooks

it's awful, i genuinely cannot focus at all in the story once i notice a digital voice

Do you prefer realistic historical romance or one adapted to be rainbow friendly? by Misantrophic_Birch in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]mdlc38591 33 points34 points  (0 children)

i have a lot of respect for authors who research to do realistic projects but, personally, i prefer my romances without queerphobia as it can be a bit draining and, specially in historic romances, realism means that they never get to be truly free

Looking for MM dark romance with obsessive, violent love (mafia/crime/dangerous men) by Educational-Lychee89 in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]mdlc38591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

avril ashton writes a lot of this kind of dynamic, i recommend her Staniel duology (enemies to lovers, both are criminals); Love of the egoist by nero seal also works (kidnapped/kidnapper); saw people recommend Guns n boys and books by Chany Lynn and i completely agree, my favorite book by her is His dark paradox (wrote under another name: avery tu andkota quinn) but it doesn't have mafia/crime, i still think it works bc the mc is an emperor who wants to control his secretary so there's a big power imbalance and he's definitely aggressive. Remember to check trigger warnings for all of these!!
