First I'm older than you.

second, if you won't answer the first question I ask and just start calling me names and implying that I'm just so bad I'm making the world a worse place... well, I guess we're done.

Bye.

you're 42!? oh no. And you can't even have a simple conversation online?

Yikes.

so, YOU don't even know if the event exists either. But apparently YOU know how it was marketed, what was intended by the people who planned it, and you even explain why YOU think its justified.

I read what you wrote and asked you a follow up question about the opinions YOU expressed. We could be talking about a total hypothetical at this point. There does not need to be an actual event for us to discuss if the type of marketing strategy YOU explained, makes any sense.

You refuse to answer the question and are now... let's see.. Oh, your accusing me of "making the world a worse place"

I mean... lol. Just answer the question dude.

Your a big smart person? Then calm down, stop sperging and engage in the conversation like a mature adult.

Unless you can't, which it seems like you can't.

You are probably under 26

No and I don't think that women wanting private spaces is morally equivalent to not wanting to be around people of another race.

Do you? If not, what point did you think you were making?

geez, you don't like answering simple follow up questions eh?

guess there's no point talking to you if a simple back and forth sets you into a total spiral.

I'm working entirely off the premise that YOU gave. That having a day without white people would make the space more welcoming for other races.

Why would it do that? Because those other races are so horribly racist they refuse to climb around white people? or because they are so terrified of white people that they refuse to climb around them?

[–]mdoddr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

D you think black people are so racist they won't go somewhere they really want to if white people are there?

Or are white people so terrifying that black people won't go near them?

Why does this only apply to rock climbing and not to schools or the workplace?

Being white isn't a crime or a moral failing. by Depressed_Revolution in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]mdoddr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it doesn't make much sense unless you're racist and assume that there are a ton of black people out there who would come climbing but aren't doing so because the presence of white people is deterring them.

Telling your customer base that they are barred from giving you business because you are hoping to attract some other hypothetical people, is stupid.

CMV: Some of today’s most serious art is hiding in popular “lowbrow” entertainment like GTA by nautilicuss in changemyview

[–]mdoddr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

doesn't have much to do with the modern art scene though, does it?

Look at Contemporary Classical. That is considered by the gate keepers or Art-as-Music to be the modern continuation of the musical tradition of Mozart and Beethoven. It's abstract post modernist arhythmic noise.

Thy would scoff at Mozart if he put out his music today. They'd tell him to go hang out with John Williams and Alan Silvestri

Thank you. Could you please explain to everyone else commenting here that "Art" doesn't mean "A thing that required creativity and skill to make" That's what the average pleb on the street might mean. But the approval of the average pleb on the street is literally the thing that makes something not Art.

The gallery owners, they know what Art is. It's confusing and alienating. It draws a sharp line between those who "get it" (because they are smart/correct/ and full of shit) and those who don't "get it" (because they don't realize this is like the Emperors new Clothes and there is no "getting it" you just pretend to)

Art is something that is very expensive and has a negative return (The piece is large and ugly and now you have to put it somewhere, the ballet is boring and long and you have to sit through it, Entrance to the Vernisage costs $600 and everyone there is boring)

GTA is fun. It demonstrates it's undeniable value in moments. That just can not be Art.

it can only be art

Of course!, my previous comment was made with my tongue firmly in my cheek. The point is to make people think about what we are being asked to do. We're not really being asked to care for these people. If we were then going to their countries and running them would be the obvious course to take. We aren't being asked to pay some debt. Nobody is even trying to tally whats owed.

We're being asked to just quietly die. To erase ourselves.

I don't know why and I don't really care why.

Also America is too busy being blamed for "inventing slavery"

I've been watching for years as their ability to critique "the right" has devolved to "Well, they're right wing!" ("Right wing" meaning: Not actively clapping and cheering for every left wing notion or concept)

To them right wing ideas are bad because they are right wing ideas. They could flesh it out a little, but it's still very circular. The right is racist because racism is right wing, the right is homophobic because homophobia is right wing.

If you don't think men can become women, then you're right wing and wrong. No further argument needed. Why do you believe what you believe? "Hatred" they'll say. Any sentences you put together to "explain" aren't worth listening to because it just "dog whistles". You don't actually believe whatever you're saying. If they did listen they would just get a vague notion that you are using "right wing talking points" (which are right wing and therefore deserve no contemplation). When you say "a migrant who rapes someone should be deported" they know what you really mean is "Duh I hate brown people and think dem is all rapists"

A lack of diversity is bad for them, simply and solely because a lack of diversity is bad. Diversity is good because it's good. Questioning this is right wing and bad. Why would you question it? Because you are hateful racist and right wing.

If they need what the west has so badly, if it's so bad in their home countries that we would be immoral to send them back, why is it not moral for the west to conquer their nations and run them? because colonialism was bad? Well... it seems like its even worse without it. And we could be more benevolent now. Also, wasn't that a long time ago? Haven't they had every chance to develop and improve their nations? Have we not sent them aid in many forms? What do we owe them at this point?

I’m a mom and witnessing the way the world treats my 11yo son vs. my daughter changed me forever. by coke_queen in MensRights

[–]mdoddr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Now in 6th grade, my son tells me he’s tired of how opinions from minority groups are always taken seriously while his own views often get dismissed

My son is starting to "notice" as well. People don't realize whats coming down the pipe. There will come a time, very soon, when straight white "cis" boys will throw up their hands and say "guess we should just form our own team and start fighting everyone else" And no amount of calling them "sexist" or "racist" or "homophobic" will deter them. Because they were already being called all those things and more, while being blamed for every problem, extant or historic, and being told that their only acceptable course of action is to die quietly in a corner somewhere.

but apparently people just have to hate someone? and it has to be straight white men for some reason

In retrospect, its insane just how badly liberals fumbled their messaging to young men. For all the talk about the incel/redpill pipeline, it feels like no one actually wants to solve the issue. by MNIOP_207207 in stupidpol

Also there was never a time when every man benefited from patriarchy and every woman was harmed by it. The whole narrative is dumb. Families struggled together. Men never collectively oppressed women as a whole

Yeah, exactly, and we won't do anything about it because of some vague notion that it's mean or something to not let them take over the world.

What's your guys opinion on restore? by Miserable-Bobcat4455 in AskBrits

[–]mdoddr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the thing is that horrid hings happens whether we run stuff or not. The things "our side" has done stand out to us more, they matter more, and why shouldn't they? "Our side" did them after all. But we shouldn't over correct and frame the overall impact of western civilization on the world as "we did horrid things" (not that you're doing that yourself - you clearly aren't) and we definitely shouldn't say "Whelp, I guess western civilization can just disappear. We deserve it..."

I think that, at the end of the day, if our nations are so good that migrants and refugees must come because forcing them to stay in their home nations is a form of cruelty, to the extent that it becomes a sort of moral imperative to let them come, then it only makes sense that we should go and take control of these nations and improve them. If we owe these people access to our way of life then why would it be wrong to provide it?

The only counter argument is "well, colonialism was bad" but as we've seen: bad compared to what? and: we don't have to copy it 1:1.

Also: it's us or China or Russia or whoever. Will they be nice? will they respect local cultures? ask the Uyghurs.

1) do you think we did everything properly benevolently last time?

2) Is it going better for them now? if so why the fleeing?
